"Catch A Falling Hero" Part 3 of 4. Guest-starring Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Nick Fury and the Black Widow.

Script by Chris Claremont. Art by Sal Buscema (breakdowns) and Steve Leialoha (finishes).
What a great 4-part series that was. I can't wait for it to be collected in Marvel Masterworks. Buscema was always a great storyteller, so pairing him with someone who could add a lot of detail and depth to his work was brilliant. One of my favorite Black Widow stories ever! She wasn't appearing much at that time.

I wished that Marvel had Natasha featured as a reoccurring guest in Amazing Spider-Man and Spectacular Spider-Man respectively during the 1970's and 1980's. I am shocked that no Spider-Man writer wanted to use The Black Widow in their stories. It would seem that Black Widow and Spider-Man have a very good dynamic. Yet no one wants to do a team-up story between Black Widow and Spider-Man that has as much potential as Spider-Man and Deadpool team-up adventures.

As far as heroines working with Spidey goes, The Black Widow could had been his first team-up partner back in the 1970's, long before The Black Cat was introduced. A huge opportunity was missed with this one, along with Greer Nelson(The Cat). If the later was used in Spider-Man's world following her mini series, Greer might have avoided becoming Tigra if she was used in Amazing Spider-Man under Gerry Conway...
