Also reportedly Thomas Wayne is not in the movie, though he was in earlier drafts.

So the response to Batfleck being too old is to go back to the oldest living Batman left?
On the other hand it's Keaton so count me in.
That is absolutely insane lol. So, are they gonna have him as Keaton Batman? Or another version of Batman in the multiverse? Or a possible future version of Affleck Batman?
Looks to me that they are embracing multiverse, which is awesome.
DC Extended Universe Thread (DCEU)
That's how it starts. The fever. The rage. The feeling of powerlessness. That turns good men....Cruel - Alfred.
This may be the only thing that I do that matters - Bruce.
Stay down, if I wanted it, you would be dead already - Clark.
With The Hollywood Reporter article mentioning Keaton will serve as a mentor figure in the Batgirl film, looks like they are ditching Batman in the main universe altogether and focusing on Batgirl with Older Bruce Wayne playing a Batman Beyond-esque retired mentor role for her.
Confirms that Robert Pattinson's movies are their own separate universe.
This is exciting news but I still don’t like Ezra Miller as the Flash but Keaton returning more than makes up for it, imo.
"I love mankind...it's people I can't stand!!"
- Charles Schultz.
If true, it sounds like they plan to start a whole new universe around Keaton’s Batman as a mentor to new heroes. So they’d have the “Snyder earth”, the Pattinson Bat earth, and now a Michael Keaton lead earth.
It could be like the classic Earth 2, but with Batgirl and Supergirl instead of Huntress and Power Girl.
Could totally see Margot Robbie advocating for Michelle Pfeiffer to play Catwoman in a Gotham City Sirens film over a younger rival actress.
Not that I'm complaining. Pfeiffer would still KILL it in a more classic costume like The Cat's original 1940 green dress or Catwoman's 70's purple costume with green cape. And who wouldn't want a second serving of her Selina Kyle anyway? Better late than never.
Now people are going to jump into assuming the Burton films are now canon to the current DC films .
Anyone else amused by the fact that every bit of info we have about Flashpoint so far revolves around Batman?
If Keaton's return is a big hit, then you never know. It might open the door for other characters to return like Pfeiffer's Catwoman. Only catch would be Joker as Robbie's Harley Quinn needs a Mistah J younger than Nicholson (though it would be HILARIOUS if they retconned Leto's Joker to be a glorified version of Batman Beyond's Jokerz, a juggalo just inspired by the real deal from the past, Nicholson's Joker in this case)
