Trump was told on Friday he could go to Walter Reed voluntarily, but he would be taken no matter what when his condition worsened. Doctors told Trump if he waited he could lose ability to walk to Marine One (optics of a wheelchair or stretcher obvs would be terrible)

Everyone bathes in hand sanitizer. It's called soap which is even better than hand sanitizer in terms of repelling viruses. I make it a point that on the day I go grocery shopping, I time it so I go to the bath right after so I can soak the droplets off stat.

To be honest, I think the reason Trump and company are so cavalier about the virus was the report that it mainly affected disproportionately black communities and also Latino communities. Once they heard that, they figured that the preexisting conditions that harmed black people as a result of layers of accumulated injustice meant that white people like them with health care and facilities were immune. They didn't care if they were spreading it, to be honest the majority of white folks who violate the guidelines are consciously and unconsciously doing that.

So that's what led it to happen.

The WH cluster is probably the biggest instance of this broad collection of white affluent people getting the virus in one place and one time since the pandemic started.

Funny thing yesterday. I went to work wearing a mask that was basically an American flag. Had two people assume I was a Conservative Republican and Trump supporter. *gag ach puke* But it demonstrates how much Conservatives have hi-jacked the flag. They do that because, clearly, if you say something while wearing red, white and blue or with an American flag waving in the background, it *must* be true and you *must* believe in American values and people. I was wearing it as a way of saying that no, bigots, racists and fascists are NOT going to hi-jack the flag to the point that people who really believe in the ideals of freedom and equality for all human beings including all races and genders and religions- in other words, liberals- feel they can't even associate with the American flag.

Yes, that whole hand sanitizer panic was ridiculous considering that almost nobody was hoarding bath soap or hand soap which is overwhelmingly more effective.

I also think Trump is well aware of the extreme levels of anti-science, lack of education and ignorance that drive his supporters plus the conspiracy theories and what liberals perceive as playing an ignorant buffoon is what Conservatives perceive as what Archie Bunker would have called "a regular guy". They don't see it as ignorant or anti-science. They see it as how much smarter he is than these know it all eggheads.
