Is Shadow Knight taken? She looks like a shadow and while she doesn't her wear armor like a knight, she is very intensely dedicated to her code like knights and their chivalry.

My issue is that it's not really on the nose at all.

One parent with Cass is always alive. Part of her character is her struggle to define herself outside of her parents, who she embraces as much as she rebels against.

Not actually true. New 52 Nightwing rebooted Shiva as a teenager, so when Cass was reintroduced, Shiva was no longer her mother. She really WAS an orphan. Rebirth restored Shiva's true age and made her Cass's mother again, the Orphan name no longer made sense after that.

I think it would be somewhat entertaining to have Cass cutely aggressive with boys (like she was with Superboy when she decided he could be her boyfriend). "You will be mine." It definitely would be a change from the whole abstaining stance characters like Babs seem to have these days. Could also serve as more dynamics for Babs and Cass; little sister has discovered boys and has discovered that they find her attractive, big sister is flabbergasted and scandalised that little sister is "playing the field" and attempts to protect her.
