no it doesn't but its a hell of a lot better than a Battle Royal, the absolute bane of Gaming, looking at you fortnight

It's also a lot more difficult to get right though.

Character selection, character balance, map designs, mode designs, gameplay loop, combat design, weapon design, weapon balance, weapon selection, graphics, sound design, etc. All take lot more work both in creation and to keep it going compared to the BR games which are entirely focused around a single gimick while otherwise being simple death match games.

But true, if it fails, at least it might end up considered a valiant effort in a genre which is rather unforgiving to stay alive in, rather than another cheap skate gimick chase with a Marvel themed skin slapped on.

Not to rain on the parade, but the fundamental problem with making such an X-men game and actualy have it be about the team, is that since each character has entirely different powerset and physical qualites, either everyone has to get streamlined to fit a basic gameplay system (see the 1990's beat 'em ups or the hack and slash based X-men Legacy games) or they would have to practically create a new game for each character.

And since the former is the more likely outcome to happen, Storm would end up extremely limited in what she can do with her powers.

If it was a game entirely about Storm. Now that would be a different matter, but then the big question would be on what kind of gameplay they should go for?

It was an okay show, and I loved Storm’s voice actress but it was too Wolverine-centered (duh) and not enough Storm in it.

Exactly this. Storm was basically a cameo character there. She had an even smaller role there than in X-Men Evolution. The 90s show is the only one that kept her front and center.
