Is Pantha really a latina? Afaik it was never revealed who she was before the Wildebeast Society transformed her.

Pantha

Pantha is a cat-like super-hero and a member of the Teen Titans. Originally a normal woman named Rosabelle Mendez, the Wildebeest Society mutated her into a were-beast. With no knowledge of her origins, she used the name X-24 given to her as a test subject. Much of her career was spent looking for information about her past. When she left the Titans, she formed a family with Red Star as her partner and Baby Wildebeest as her adopted child. During Infinite Crisis, she was murdered by Superboy-Prime. She has also been a member of the Black Lantern Corps. Pantha was created by Marv Wolfman and Tom Grummett, first appearing in New Titans #73. (1991)

I would LOVE to see someone revamp Gangbuster. He was such a great character but he had a pretty terrible costume. He was kind of like if Jaime Escalante became a superhero. He was the character that Vibe should have been like. Pretty revolutionary as he was one of the first good Hispanic superheroes. Jose Delgado was intelligent and handsome and didn't speak in a stereotypical way. He even had a relationship with Lois Lane. I sure that pissed off a number of readers back then. Lois Lane almost romantically linked to a Mexican American character. Scandal!

Television

Actress Angélica Celaya portrays Zed in the TV series Constantine. The female lead for the series, Zed is portrayed as a Hispanic-American character as opposed to her comics counterpart who is British. She gets visions from objects and people that she touches, and would often record these visions by sketching them. Constantine describes her as a "bitta", or someone with "a bitta everything" in her, which in her case includes powers of precognition, retrocognition, and clairtangence. Her innate abilities bring on some powerful emotional connections and often put her at odds with Constantine, who is portrayed as an aloof loner who avoids all emotional connections.
