And now Disney watches as WB takes a PR win for hiring the man they fired. So, yeah, actions have consequences.

WB having Gunn is no guarantee of quality or even stability. You only have to look at Whedon to see that.

You want to try to make that argument again?
Factor in inflation and GOTG falls farther down

Consequences Disney seem fine with since they didn't rehire him. Thats the point. Disney actions did have consequenes but they doubled down anyways, so dor them it was apparently worth it.

Again, I almost feel worse for Gunn thsn Disney in this s4utuation. If he can't repkicate gis sucess, which I think will be much harder to do in dc, it will only reinforce marvels position.

Gunn isn't going to be handicapped with an already partially-finished movie.

They doubled down because they don't want to admit they're wrong. It doesn't mean they wouldn't take it back if they could start over, or that they're fine with putting GotG3 on hold or losing Gunn to DC.

And Gunn should be fine. It doesn't need to be a GoTG-level success, it just needs to be a good movie that makes money.

On the other hand, Patty Jenkins (who was hired and subsequently left Thor: The Dark World) turned out one of the best super hero movies in Wonder Woman.

"The Guardians movies weren't that big" continues to be the worst take.

On the other hand, maybe this reinforces WB was right removing Horn years ago.

Do you know for a fact they only did it because they didn't want to admit they were wrong and they would take it back if they could start over? Did they tell you that?

All we know is they infact could have rehired Gunn but instead chose not to.

But yeah, Gunn should be fine. Disney should be fine. In the grand scheme of things none of this likely matters that much.

Disney has been doing pretty okay since then (arguably better than the WB), so Im not sure this is doing a terribly good job reinforcing anything.

I don't know. WB didn't fire one of their biggest directors because of a smear campaign from a hate group.

Did they tell you they're fine with with their decision, since you keep on repeating that as a fact?

But yeah, Gunn should be fine. Disney should be fine. In the grand scheme of things none of this likely matters that much.

I think they pretty told everyone they are fine firing him when they fired him.

Again, Disney is doing pretty darn well in recent years (arguably better than a lot of it's peers including WB), so I'm not sure Disney is losing too much sleep at night over this.
