Yeah I did sell quite a few OOP books off a while back. I guess I've always tried to keep a solid core of books I enjoy and will want to re-read. I can get carried away and buy books to try them out. I'm only adding more Hickman books at this stage, which I probably shouldn't have sold off in the first place haha, the rest is just upgrading tpbs. I'm also selling some books so my collection is probably going to be even smaller.
I split my books into as many categories as i have rows on my shelves atm they go X-Men 1960-1999, X-Men 2001-present, Cosmic Marvel, Mystic Marvel, General Marvel, Spider-Man, DC.
Whenever I get something new I just shift the books along abit as I prefer to go chronological by series.
I split mine by publisher and then character/team, such as IDW > TMNT and Transformers or DC > Aquaman/Batman etc. With books I do genre > author > series, such as fantasy > Gemmell/Weeks/Abercrombe or crime > Gerritsen/Cornwell.
“We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.”
It's cool seeing how different we all arrange our books. I was thinking of changing how I arrange mine into format (like all omnis), but then I changed my mind again and decided to keep them how I have them. It just wouldn't feel right.
“Now faith, hope, and love remain, and the greatest of these is love.”--1 Corinthians 13:13
“You had a dream; I have a plan”--Cyclops
“There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes.”--The Doctor
I'm in the middle of doing it by publisher/era/character
eg: golden age dc > batman > flash > green lantern etc. Then silver age, bronze age and so on. Then the same with Marvel.
But then I feel compelled to group all my favourite writers books together immaterial of publisher and everything goes out the window...ha. First world problems.
