Didn't the Night King have some control over ice? In the episode "The Door" when he touches the ground it seemed like he caused a minor quake.

Euron is definitely worse in the books (but in a way that makes him terrifying, not lame). He is responsible for murdering several of his brothers and even molested a few. He also has a dragon horn that may or may not gain him control over one of Dany's dragons. He's being built up as a super dangerous magical character, and there's a great theory going around that his ultimate goal is to transform himself into a god. Plus, it's alluded to that he was one of the Three-Eyed Raven's failed candidates to be his successor.

Ramsay in the books is just...meh. I mean, the sadism is the same as in the show, but in the books it seems really implausible that he'll murder Roose Bolton and take control of the North. Roose in the books is simply too creepy and cautious, and even his Northern allies hate Ramsay.

Things went kinda circular from the book people

Before the season started, people would constantly complain aout her book Euron and stuff like book FAegon were garbage

Now all of a sudden, you are starting to see praise for them.

    It's weird.

He summoned that ice storm at the Battle of Winterfell too. But the Wall was magically constructed, probably originally to keep the NK and the White Walkers out. (Though later everyone thought it was to keep the Wildlings out.)

I think the strategy of bringing a fire-breathing dragon in to fight an army of zombies was sound strategy. Dany could not reasonably have anticipated the NK could bring down a full-grown dragon in flight with a hand-thrown javelin. Dany should have lodged an appeal with GRRM, who has said that kind of thing just doesn't happen.

When did King's Landing become a CGI wall in some sand dunes?

Was that another one of Tyrion's brilliant ideas?

Initially I thought the only positive outcome of that mission was to get Jaime to maybe gather the Lannister and Tully armies from Riverrun...but he just came to Winterfell on his own. I guess it was a win for Brienne at the end, if that's the case.
Yeah, that pretty much CONFIRMED my fears of season 8. But I went back and forth about whether or not it was a cool episode or just an excuse to get a wight dragon.

The real travesty is that we never even got a scene where the dragons matched fire breath against ice breath. I mean, come on...

I think it's less ice breath and more fire breath that happens to be blue, so I don't think the breath vs breath thing would actually be all that interesting. THough yeah... I was curious to see if it actually happens.

Do they expect us to just forget the Battle of the Blackwater and, like, every other scene of the outside of King's Landing? Ridiculous!

If dany can simply forget about a fleet of ships that's messed her up twice before, I guess lol

I think the thing which took her by surprise were the Scorpions. When they were discussing strategies, they mentioned that the dragons were supposed to be the counters to Eurons fleet. I think she believed their air superiority would trump Eurons naval superiority. We did see the Scorpions before, but they were only moderately effective, so I don't think she was sweating them at that point.

The real test now that they know what they are dealing with is what sort of counter they can come up with. The Scorpions seem just as effective against boats as Dragons, so even Yara's fleet (which already got its butt kicked by Euron last time they met) might not be able to counter it unless they come up with something to deal with the Scorpions on the fly. Or they can simply avoid any sort of naval battle... but the teasers imply that's not the case.

Bleh, they are as effective as the two idiots want them to be

aka going 3/3 nailing a dragon from miles away on a damn boat or going 0/50 missing drogon.

In all actuallity, Dany shows up at night and burns everything to the ground... cna't shoot what you can't see.

But, only thing that can counter a teleporting armada with perfect accuracy is better writing lol
