What if Uncle Ben had survived being shot?

What if Spider-man joined the Avengers? (Yes. I know he eventually did join the Avengers, but what I'm talking about is right at the start of his career. Remember how he tried to join the Fantastic Four at the start of his career for a paycheck and it didn't work? What if he tried joining the next big team when that didn't pan out?

What if Peter Parker had not seen the Burglar? Peter just spends an extra minute or two talking to somebody and misses when the Burglar runs past. How is that going to affect his world view when Uncle Ben later gets shot?

I remember reading a what if where uncle Ben had live. Forget the issue number though. In it he has peter unmask to JJ to prove he is not the menace that the newsman claimed him to be. And John with his superpowers took down the Green Goblin
