Thanks for the replies on the Silver Age Doom Patrol and Morrison's as well.
I'm leaning towards getting it. Even paying tax(I'm a TN resident) off of IST the week of release the book will be about $55 and it contains 41 issues. That's about $1.30 an issue in nice oversized format. If I realize I'm not liking it I can sell it and get most or all of my money back at some point. If I like it, and I like a large amount of SA material, I may hunt down Morrison's tome.
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" - Optimus Prime
Anyone got the Knightfall omnibus? I understand it finally collects Batman 484-490 and it's only missing Sword of Azrael.
Still wondering if I should get it considering I have the 2012 TPB's plus all the missing comics in floppys.
Yes, the Omnibus Vol 1 has more than the Vol 1 TPB (and not just because one is Omnibus and other is not). Important prelude material is in the Omni and not in the softcovers. From what we know of the Omni's, they will (finally) be significantly more complete than the existing New Edition thick softcovers.
Knightfall prelude issues and Knightquest The Search will be the key unique additions to the Omnis (vs the existing New Edition thick softcovers). Along with a few other issues and cool certain extras.
(Sword of Azrael, which I think absolutely belongs in Knightfall collections as the very first arc, will be the only thing left DC hasn't rectified with the Omnis.....if they finally realize that Robin #0 is the true first part (part 0) of Prodigal that is in the future Vol 3 Omni, assuming it follows the TPBs and includes Prodigal)
In summary, these Omni's look to be proof that third time is a charm for DC in mostly correctly collecting the KFall saga.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft
Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Instead of trying to force Deluxes on people that don't want them, DC could at least do like a $7.99 (or more) half trade reprint of The Button arc. They did that with DC Universe Rebirth #1, but I guess not now. Thanks DC.
