I could be misremembering, but I believe he had mentioned he didn't know what to do with her if she wasn't in a relationship, and since he didn't want to write them together at that time, that is why she disappeared for most of it after Big Time. And might also be why he assumed Bendis would've felt the same way.

I am surprised to hear he did give an explanation regarding Go Down Swinging, because that was one of the biggest question marks for me and I never saw any comment from him beforehand talking about it. It's hard to tell exactly whether those scenes were added in because he knew what would happen in Spencer's first issue, or had to be changed because he was originally gonna end the story with them together. I wanna say the former, just because the transition between 796 and 797 is SO jarring.

Rick Jones has shown up all over the place in the Marvel Universe.

(The secret most interesting conversation that will never happen is between Rick Jones and Mary Jane Watson.)

I always thought his gf/wife Marlo was a taller version of MJ in the 90s. especially when MJ hair was more wavy from the late 80s to late 90s.

I liked how Todd McFarlane drew her hair all frizzy with a red/orange mix in Spider-Man #13 (August, 1991).

Very nice; the emotional tenor of the piece, the use of color, and the semi-photorealistic image of MJ herself.

Copied that for phone wallpaper. Haven't used it yet, but still have the file.

    I like the ponytail .

Maybe it's because Robbie Daymond is playing Peter but her design reminds me of Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5: Royal.

(I hope we get a "Face it Tiger..." moment).

She's kawaii (cute) and exudes a wholesome playful charisma. A young MJ based upon her would a great choice.
