Background

Eiko Magami (born Eiko Eru) recently came to the US from Japan. She makes no claims about her parentage, though it seems she may be the offspring of two of the most powerful members of the original Justice League. Though no proof exists, her dual legacy is evident in her appearance as well as her abilities. She was born about a year before the Justice League dissappeared, and she is adamant that her family name is Eru (the Japanese equivalent of El), spelled エル in Katakana. When asked about it, she neither confirms nor denies anything but refuses to let anyone perform any tests because she feels it would violate her privacy.

Eiko came to the US in order to further her studies on a scholarship funded by LexCorp, one of the groups who has tried repeatedly to study her and her abilities. She politely refuses on most occassions (sometimes politely throwing a car or swinging a light post to emphasize her point), and has even offerred to go back home but the official stance of LexCorp is that even if they cannot study her, they would like to employ her at some point. Not knowing much about the rivalry between Lex Luthor and her alleged father, she is a little confused about their kindness.

Eiko is for the most part a friendly and polite girl, having been raised by her adopted family in Japan. She does, however, have a temper which can be set of if she is pushed, or when she encounters bullies. Such encounters can often result in an inordinate amount of property damage.

Truth is, she is unsure about her legacy. She can't even remember the faces of her parents and only have the stories she heard as a child from her adoptive parents. She is curious, but for the most part just wants to live an oridinary life as an ordinary girl. She's not the best student, and often sleeps in (forcing her to use her powers to get to school on time).

As a superhero she is reluctant, and is not exactly the best team player. In fact she will take matters into her own hands. Its not that she is uncooperative, but when her temper flares she operates on emotion rather than reason. However, she has a strong sense of right and wrong and will not cause harm to others if she can help it, whether she is fighting mere thugs, supervillains or giant monsters. Robots are another matter. She has a tendency to break them, in various ways.

Even though she doesn't need to, Eiko tends to wear her Japanese High School uniform, and only wears normal clothes on weekends and holidays.

It’s forced in superficial ways like the “power couple” dub. It’s been used as a buzz title really losing its meaning. The dynamic as best friends, their level of understanding and connection. Your most recent example of that is future state with what makes their dynamic and who they are. It’s more than just “Superman”/“Wonder Woman” name. It’s Clark and Diana.

I doubt DC will try to push Jon/Yara as SM/WW past Future State. They would look no more than the discount version of the originals, more iconic SM/WW. This kind of thing never work.

Like I always say, It would be totally different if all of this was the success it was expected to be. It is what it is then. But it wasn’t at all. We already see the movies debacle. As far as comics, trying to cut, copy, paste things to make it fit and it doesn’t. Revisionist history just making this more a contradictory mess. The trinity book that was suppose to replace both SMWW and BMSM and just other books in general didn’t even meet half of what SMWW did. Animation was abrupt with ending and seemed pointless, now starting over. It’s all directionless because they torched one thing that was actually proved to be working but put their eggs in one basket for another jumping way too far ahead cutting off any other options.

If they are really serious about the concept of the omniverse/multiverse/hypertime/whatever, there are no more excuses to cut off other options.
