It's not the mutants job to be the PR team of their species, they are allowed to feel anger towards their opressors and use a word that is pretty much a subversion of the names mutants are called by humans, stuff like "mutie/aberration/gene freak" but it has no actual power over it since mutants dont opress humans.
Please stop. Orchis is comprised of friggin' AIM and Hydra, man. Those are already scumbag terrorist organizations. They are not humanity. This argument you're putting forth is indefensible. You jumped to Sentinel City when I pointed out the implications that children are casually dropping racial slurs. As if people on the level of the Red Skull are in any way representative of an entire species. As if Apocalypse is representative of mutantdom.
Not sure what's worse, people getting offended by a fictional insult, or boomers who compare "Ok boomer" to the N word....
no it really isn't. I mean, its up for interpretation but imo without nuance it would be "Us vs. Them, and one side is definitively right"....this is "Us vs. Them", yes, mutants have always been pit against humans, but we've been given space to understand why both sides have come to the point they have. Bam, nuance.
I agree personally w/ the side of the mutants , based on what they've been through as a "society" of sorts I feel like their actions are justified and this kid saying flatscan as a throwaway joke is fine. You don't personally have to agree, but don't condemn the ideology running through the books as oversimplified just because you disagree
The latest X-Force has a great deal of nuance. Did you check it out? Domino shined in it.
She's watching guard over a human woman speaking about her theories as a mutant sympathizer. She's doing this because humans that support mutants are being killed. She and Sage work to track down the assassin and not a single mutant was killed in the issue. It was 100% about protecting humans.

Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
Yeah, ex-SHIELD and ex-Strike folks. Let's not forget Hammer, or that the organization is overwhelmingly comprised of AIM members. Then we have things like Xeno that killed an entire airliner's worth of people to get a few meat puppets onto Krakoa. These are insane terrorists who don't value life very much. Ferro, you're not going to like where Hickman is going to take the X-Men if this is your reaction to little scenes like this. If you've read his Fantastic Four or Avengers you'd know his runs are not for people who are too attached to teams and characters as clean, wholesome, and righteous.
