Default Law's Legionnaires / origi. GA Seven Soldiers of Victory Appreciation 2021

Since DC will be releasing the Stargirl Spring Break Special in a few months,
I figured it might be time to revive a thread about the original, Golden Age (pre-CoIE) team.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Note: Some of this information is from previous threads.

First appearance in a feature story: Leading Comics #1 (Winter 1941)

    The original line-up consisted of:
    * Green Arrow & Speedy (first appeared in More Fun Comics #73, cover-dated November 1941)
    * Star Spangled Kid & Stripesy (first appeared in a brief preview published in Action Comics #40, cover-dated September 1941, then appeared regularly in Star Spangled Comics starting with October 1941's issue#1)
    * Shining Knight (Sir Justin) from Adventure Comics starting with issue #66 (September 1941)
    * Vigilante (Greg Saunders) who first appeared in Action Comics #42 (Nov. 1941)
    * The Crimson Avenger from Detective Comics.
(see separate "Original Golden Age Crimson Avenger (Lee Travis) appreciation thread" for more on him)

There was also Wing (Wing How, the Crimson's stereotypical valet / sidekick) who many, many years later would sometimes be referred to as the Eighth Soldier.
First Silver/Bronze Age appearance in a story: Justice League of America #100 (August 1972):

I have little faith it will ever happen, but the original script for Leading 15 that was drawn by modern artists and published as backups in Adventure Comics 438-443 needs to be collected and reprinted somewhere. I know we got the script itself in the three volume Archives (very nice set by the way), but the finished product needs to be collected.

One of my favorite line ups.

Seeing them referenced in CW STARGIRL S1 was a real treat. I liked the running gag about the team actually having eight members. And then it dawned on me, it’s called the Seven Soldiers because The Shining Knight gathered his seven teammates/Soldiers. He’s not actually included in the number.

I also like how this artwork compared to the cover of Leading Comics #1 (Winter 1941) where the first story of the 7SoV appeared:

Is that suppose to be Stuff in that line-up?

Not sure why they would have changed his original look so much from that of an Americanized Chinese kid.

I'd rather not get too carried away with all the various replacement members various writers came up with once the Golden Age Green Arrow and Speedy were removed as a result of CoIE.
Heck, you could have a whole 'nother thread on that topic . . .

    Pretty sure that’s Stuff yeah.

And my bad, I overlooked the OP criteria and wanted to share some pics I came across. Consider the offending post edited.

I wouldn't quite call it "unbecoming". I just didn't want this thread to get hijacked by all the later revisions to the team like whether TNT and Dan the Dyna-Mite should still be considered members, or the whole "Alias the Spider" revision.

The combination of original costume Crimson Avenger with later costume version of Wing seems . . . strange.

I wonder how they'll make Seven Soldiers different from every other team in the DCU. They need a niche i beiieve.
