Oh man talk about poor timing to attack Lois Lane, Superman and two Superboys about to be on you.
"It's fun and it's cool, so that's all that matters. It's what comics are for, Duh."
    Words to live by.

"That Clark of yours would never come back from that". And so it begins with another "Superman would turn into a dictator without Lois" narrative. This is getting kind of stale at this point.

Not necessarily. He may just never emotionally recover and appear as a broken symbol to people. Bendis has been pretty strong on Clark's characterization so I hope he doesn't fall into that trap. It's a villain's interpretation, anyway, not exactly a trustworthy source.

And, my god, Jon is going to be absolutely furious someone is threatening his mother.

I find it just bizarre that, writers in general want superman to be seen as an incorruptible symbol because of wife or girlfriend or whatever. His powers to be a result of the sun. Him being superman because of the guidance of sky parents and upbringing of earth parent. Its as if writers in general don't value Clark. The story isn't about his own effort, his choices, his instinct and his morality. Whatever happened to the man of action, indeed. Its like the protagonist is reduced to ma, pa, honey, protein shake... Etc. Jeeez!

That's mostly due to modern Superman not having any real character traits. He's just a random collection of facts and lore.

Ironically enough Bendis has given the character more of a voice than he's had in ages- it's just...there isn't much for him to say.

Can anyone tell me why everyone has become Kyūbi's Jinchūriki? Superman breaks as soon as he loses someone, it hurts the character a lot, I know more than one who doesn't like Superman, because he gives speeches but the problem he has , he gives up. DC is aware of the problem (you don't have to be a genius to know that they harm Superman) and they still do. we should ask ourselves why.

That's funny, kyuubi is used for showing how naruto never gives up. That no matter what monsters he fights inside. He will never go back on his word and the dream of a better, peaceful world. Here, its the opposite. Everything is used to rob the credit and focus from the protagonist on to his world. Superman has just become a product of the society. Naruto rose above the society to achieve his goal from an orphan jinchuuriki hated by the society. Naruto had nothing and rose the ranks. Superman has everything and will continue to have it.Superman became a Man who has everything. That's the opposite of what a superman should be.

Is it just me or does Romita's Lois look worse than it did during Truth? And that was only four years ago.

"Your husband" - Superman feels like such a Marvel hero now.

Isn't it more that you just don't prefer the character traits modern Superman writers emphasize over others?

There was a whole Alan Moore story about this and how it's way more complicated than that.

It's complicated than that. For a different superman, not this one. This one never actually rose from the ashes.Just look at the preview, His parents never died.he has a son and a brother. He has a cousin. He has a wife. Everyone loves him for who he is and understand him. The world accepted the alien guy with out much problems when he came out.He has a job(not that he needs it). He is royalty and bears the symbol of el. He represents earth and is building united planets. So, he is the opposite of guy in for the man who has everything.

Alan moore's story was about an orphan alien guy(not unlike naruto himself) who had nothing. Even his friends and potential love didn't know the real him or understand him.

Nah, Bendis has been solid for the most part. He's done the best with what is there...there's just not much there.

    Superman has no individual personality.

It's about this character who seemingly has everything but also has this huge sense of internal loss that he still has to cope with. He puts up a smile and a brave face but there's this sense of tragedy and loss to him in-spite of everything he has be it friends, adoration, and an adopted family and Earth.

I just don't see where Superman is lacking for a personality compared to any other big Superhero unless you just don't like modern Superman's personality versus something more like the Golden Age firebrand.

Admittedly, I haven't been following this for awhile. That said; that art is not pleasant.

This doesn't mean he automatically goes evil.
