I'm pretty sure in 2010 or 2011 when Doomwar was published people were still using the character since he was in Dark Reign and Fall of the Hulks so having a X-Man kill off one of the greatest Marvel villains in a side event would've been silly.

Also: Storm is very hard to write. Practically no one these days gets her right, outside of maybe Te-Nehisi Coates, and really hasn't since Kieron Gillen left the X-Books. Which is kind of hilarious to me because of how hard people were rallying to keep Storm away from BP a few years ago...

She's not a murderer, but she will kill if need be. She took out Marrow's heart with her bare hands with the intention of killing her. Marrow had a 2nd heart Storm didn't know about though.
