Because on something like this locals take their cues from Washington, who was underplaying the risks from the beginning. Remember a week ago Trump was saying people can go to work.

Like I said before. Beshear always talks about how much he distrusts Trump and pretty much never takes his word. So why did he take Trump word on this when he could see for himself how bad things were getting? A real leader would nit just sit back in a case like this. He could have been meeting with medical officials, School officials. He should have been putting a plan in place despite what Trump was saying. That is what a leader does, he acts he does not wait for someone else to tell him when he can act.
He wouldnt have gotten into trouble for talking to hospitals and schools about a plan. Yea Trump might have bashed him but he hates Trump anyway so who the hell cares? Beshear could have looked really good to the voters by taking the intuitive but he sat back and let the man he hates tell him how to act. I dont think this will hurt him with voters in the long run but he could have done much more. I can give the Mayor of Cincinnati a pass because Dewine is a Republican and he takes his cue from him. Although he should be meeting with school leaders on a plan to cancel schools should it come to that. As of the noon news he has not done that. But when the first cases appeared in ky Beshear should have said to hell with what Trump is going on about. There is some thing wrong lets get a plan in place. Dont tell superintendents of schools to come up with a plan to stop schools in two days time. it should have been in the stages by this point.

Dewine is just being dumb. He has cancelled events of a hundred people or more. That is good. But he is not meeting with school leaders. he is not meeting with health officials about an emergency plan for a long term infection. At leaast not that anyone in his camp has said.

No worries baron. Certainly local governments have made missteps. DeWine seems to be a proactive GOP Governor. But the bulk of the responsibility her lies with the Federal government, who have mismanaged this. And Trump last night showed how truly incompetent he is.

It was worse over here because they just spent 10 years telling us "Theres no magic money tree" and letting foodbanks explode everywhere then yesterday (besides Covid 19 money which was expected) they threw hundreds of millions into projects showung that "Austerity" was a hollow lie

I think that while you could have a point, we just had the GOP Senate block sick pay and rush off without doing anything regarding the virus for two weeks. No one is going to see this is a good thing after those moves.
