Although they went a bit to helmet with that head gear.
Also Brian Stapf cast as Ted Grant/Wildcat- He has his thread here too - https://community.cbr.com/showthread...hlight=wildcat

Only connection it has is that it exists within the new multiverse shown at the end of Crisis of Infinite Earths. It’s on a completely new Earth 2 with its own history and such.
However apparently there have been talks of potential crossovers with either Flash or Supergirl. But not in the first season and only at idea stage from what I’ve seen in interviews.

Although it could have evolved from the concept, I was hoping she'd get closer to a boxing style with lace up boots, rather than the sleek onesie costume with toes, as well as the more bandaged pugilist elements.

Well, I have no idea what her TV origin will be, but in comics Yolanda was a meta --- from the same experiments that resulted in the birth of Mr. Bones (whom I'd love to see on Stargirl) and the rest of his team (whose name currently escapes me). I guess she may have had some boxing training -- but a lot of what she could so was genetic -- not from training. I like that she had her own power set -- not just a knock off of Ted Grant. And I think her TV look is fantastic -- as is Stargirl's.
A new version of Yolanda Montez is in the prime earth dc universe now.
Yolanda Montez (Prime Earth)

First Appearance
Doomsday Clock #12

Yolanda Montez/Wildcat was created by Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, and Don Newton, first appearing in Infinity Inc. #12. However, in the Prime Earth continuity Yolanda Montez/Wildcat first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Doomsday Clock #12 by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

I actually do hope this means that whenever we see the JSA next that we will see an emphasis on the Infinity Inc. cast alongside the new Geoff Johns era cast (meaning Jakeem Thunder, Stargirl, Cyclone, Damage, Citizen Steel. and etc.)

She looks cool! Always happy to see more Latino characters show up!
Hard to see, but she's there throughout.
Last one, that's her leaping way up top.
This show actually looks fun

Yolanda’s first cover appearance (Crisis on Infinite Earths #12, March 1986):
That's great, although her and Pérez had me doing a Where's Waldo? trying to find her ^there. : p
Here is a lightened up close up.
She's a bit more prominent in next months Infinity Inc. #25, April 1986)
And got her first Who's Who entry in 1985-87 Who's Who: Directory #25
Where she appears on the cover with Grant.

Not sure what you mean by that?
Are you thinking of Fawcett's Spy Smasher?)
Joining legacy Wildcat [Yolanda Montez] that is Dr. Midnight [Beth Chapel] wearing pretty much the Golden Age Dr. Midnight's costume. (it might borrow elements from the Pieter Cross incarnation.
And [Rick Tyler]Hourman son of [RexTyler], pretty much wearing close to his father's costume.
I do agree they could have done better.
Although maybe they start off awkwardly wearing their predecessors costumes, and those two will get upgrades that closer reflect their Infinity Inc. comic versions.
(although not sure those are any kind of improvement. I think I prefer their Golden Age costumes.
