    Default Favorite X-Men Event/Crossover

(I've made similar threads in the Marvel and Spider-Man boards - thought it would be fun to do one for the X-Books)

Simple question: What's your favorite X-Men Event

    1. Mutant Massacre

    2. Fall of the Mutants

    3. Inferno

    4. X-Tinction Agenda

    5. X-Cutioner's Song

    6. Fatal Attraction

    7. Phallanx Covenent

    8. Age of Apocalypse

    9. Onslaught

    10. Operation Zero Tolerance

    11. Messiah Complex

    12. Second Coming

    13. Age of X

    14. Battle of the Atom

    15. Other

Mine would have to be either the first, Mutant Massacre, or the biggest, Age of Apocalypse. I'm also a big fan of Second Coming despite most people placing that well below Messiah Complex.

This... is a solid answer. I also loved Messiah Complex and Second Coming too.

But if I have to pick just one, it’s X-Tinction Agenda. First TPB I ever owned. So many badass panels illustrated by Jim Lee.

There's something so tragic and beautiful about this panel, that I had to choose the X-Cutioner's Song.

Second Coming is my favorite, and what I consider the true ending to the whole Hope storyline, rather than AVX. I still have not read the older events. I am making my way through Claremont and Kitty just got introduced.

Age of Apocalypse then maybe Mutant Massacre as a distant second. I love new stuff. New characters. New situations. A new look at old characters. So Age of Apocalypse gave me lots of new looks for old characters, and Mutant Massacre gave me lots of new mutants (even if they were bad, bad people, or Morlocks slated to die horribly, pretty much immediately, like poor Tommy, or Cybele). Any event that doesn't have 'a bunch of grumpy old white haired bigots with guns' or 'weird shapechanging robots' as the bad-guys wins for me. More mutants!

Is 'Age of X' this Dawn of X/House of X thing going on this last year or so, or that silly thing with X-Man creating a loveless 'utopia' awhile back? 'Cause if it's this one, then hell yes, but if it's the X-Man mind-control Jesus / Apocalypse love-guru thing, then, no...

Inferno and then Age Of Apocalypse very close behind, then Fatal Attractions . A lot of other really great stories including HOX/POX (resurrections aside) but those three are just absolute glory.

Onslaught if only because it was a complete mess and was one of the few crossovers that majorly included the non-X-Books.

It's action ACTION ACCCTIONNN... and nothing much else going for it, really. Do you like your stakes medium and manufactured? Do you want urgency because the story takes place over a couple days at most? Do you want it to be the end of the world even though our heroes have faced worse things? Well, here's your mess of a crossover.

Really though, my top 3 in no order are Inferno, Mutant Massacre, and Fatal Attractions.

The less said about Age of X, Operation Zero Tolerance, the Twelve (if that counts), and especially Battle of the Atom, the better.

Messiah Complex is clearly the Best. The only fault it has are the boring X-factor issues.

Hox/Pox is good but its a bit long. Some changes were made that I am not fond of.
Second Coming is good but it felt padded.
Age of Apocalypse is overrated garbage.

X of Swords will fall below Hox/Pox and second Coming unless it has a GREAT second half. I do not think it makes sense for half the story to literally be the characters getting ready for the main event. In Wolverine's case it felt like padding. I think it would of been better as a 1 story, with 1 writer/artist.
I only continue to read X-books because I don't spend any money on it.

    Onslaught is what I voted.

1b) is X-Cutioner's Song. Really a toss up

    Closely behind is X-Tinction Agenda.
