But remember people always look at WHAT they are nominated and win for.

Look at Monique-she won one for being an abusive mother and Halle pretty won hers for one "make me feel good" scene with Billy Bob.

Folks want to see a variety of nominations and wins that reflect that.

If Hidden Figures or Moonlight win ANYTHING-will that be the first time we saw films with black leads not being slaves, maids, service folks, sex objects or abusive parents?

I'm kinda burnt out on Tekken, plus I hear Raven isn't in it anymore.

So if I'm understanding Tekken correctly: its essentially father Heihachi vs corrupted son Kazuya with genetically altered grandson Jin in the middle. I mean there seems to be more going on but that seems to be the focus, emphasized by the promo for Tekken 7 (half of Heihachi's face with the other half being Kazuya). I know about the devil gene and how it skips generations (fell smack dab on Kazuya) but is apparently only on the mother's side, the mother who was the main villain for part 6 I believe? Heihachi's dad was thought to be a villain but was actually good and kept under a house (I forget which game).

Gameplay wise, I'm more of a 2-D fighting game guy anyway. Street Fighter 4 and 5 seem to kinda blur the line between 2-D and 3-D so that's cool. King of Fighters, I only like playing as Omega Rugal but he's been absent from the game for a while.

I wonder if them holding the game until after Mortal Kombat X and SF 5 came out and peeps got tired of them was an intentional strategy or not.

At least now they dont have to compete with anything other than maybe KOF.

I don't have the thumbs for fighting games anymore. Besides, I'd have to go online to have anyone to play with and fighting games have the worst community outside of MOBAs.

Tekken vs. Street Fighter never was released, though it never was officially cancelled.

This article from April of last year was the most recent development I could find on TxSF. Supposedly, stuff like models have been completed, but the game is currently not in active development. According to director Harada, one of the reasons is that releasing the game right now could conflict with the active communities for SF5 and T7 so the development is on hold until a better release window comes along.

I guess that Akuma in Tekken 7 (I wonder if some other SF characters like Ryu or Chun-Li will pop up in the Tekken 7 dlc) will probably be the closest we will get to TvSF for a while.
