Let this thread die in the same way the movie already did. It's time to move on and leave this failed project in the past.

I would love to hear Tatum's thoughts about all this.
It was just some friendly advice, sometimes is better to face reality and move on than keep clinging to the dream of a movie that it will not happen.
But if you guys want to keep discussing about a movie that won't be made, then go ahead I won't be bothering you anymore

Just found this January 2018 article.
Tatum directing this movie wouldn’t surprise me.

If Tatum wanted to direct it then he would already started.
Would love to hear what happend.
No way they will start shooting in February 2019.
I don't think that they are even looking for a director anymore.
As long as I won't hear some real news I don't have any hope for this.
Why a director is hard to find?
I think Tatum maybe too picky, this is what he said in a 2013 interview.

Tatum:Unless it’s a sick director I probably will still say, “No,” unless it’s one of the top three directors that I like, you know, like Paul Thomas Anderson, Fincher, somebody like that, then I’ll jump for one of them, but other than that I’m going to stick to my guns. Because there are so many great stories and characters out there that you can just keep saying, “Yes,” but you’ve got to eventually make the decision that if it’s something you really want then do it for yourself.
He wasn’t just talking about Gambit, but all his movies. And he has stuck to this, he has only worked with top directors since this interview.
Tatum approached Bennett Miller, Darren Aronofsky, Gareth Evans, and J.C. Chandor to direct the film, but they all turned him down.
It seems Tatum wants a character based movie, he wants a Oscar bait style director. But most of these type of directors don’t do superheroes movies.

I think Tatum wanted it to be made with a smaller amount of money like Deadpool. Attached directors wanted more money for movie budget.
