I have checked and we do not know the family origins of Fabian Cortez, simply that he has American nationality. He may be Spanish, like Empath, who looks similar.

In any case, there's not really a lot of Asian male representation in the X-Men (I can't even think of anyone other than Sunfire, Xorn and Zorn and they are... somewhat problematic) so it seems like a good idea to give it a shot.

Fabian was always drawn as a strawberry blond white man.. Cortez could mean he was Spanish but folks from Spain are White...His wiki page says he comes from Spanish royalty..

Brand and SWORD partnered with Captain Marvel and rebranded as Alpha Flight, this was in the Captain Marvel solo from a few years back. Recently, at the conclusion of Empyre, Brand and Carol had a falling out and Brand vowed that she would make a better organization, and this new SWORD is the result of that.

Yes he was from the 90s. An Acolyte of Magneto and was featured in TAS. He was a piece of sh-t so I wonder how they will portray him here. IMO he was not a good character
