Dragonball M, Chapter 2: Lighthouse! Across the Shores of Shattered Time!

As the energy blades careened towards him, BekonToma gripped his rake with both hands and swung down. Hard. In its wake, nine arcs of energy--similar to the ones Anubis had just used--tore through the air, meeting Anubis' own and exploding. Furthermore, as the rake's points hit the arena floor, a spiraling cloud of ice and cold burst forth towards Anubis. This was not a distinct attack, but merely a property of the Nine-toothed rake. Mentally, he recited the next lines of a passage an ancestor of his had written about it eons ago.

When I lower it, a snowy blizzard blows.
It terrifies the Heavenly Generals,

Rather than contend with the ice, Anubis flies up, blade glowing blue.

“Ten Pin Lightning!”

He holds the blade up, then slices it down to point at Bekon, and ten bolts of ki lightning fly from the tip towards Totoma.

He bows.

“A pleasure, and thank you for the compliment. Until today I had not met a Toadian. It seems it is a day of firsts for me.”

"Yeah, Meagan has her work cut out for her." Dash then gives the oni a slightly disappointed look, "You sure ain't very good with names, are you Isthar? Ah figgure after we fought Anula and Jagam, an that Auroc thing, together you'd at least remember my name, not that it's all that hard to do."

Having just show up just awhile earlier Qaztoh is sitting down watch the screen " Ah man that place is so cool a casino slash hotel hosting a tournament. I should have went I could have made a butt load of cash for myself , ah I mean the team yeah the team!" Qaztoh said as her pendent shows a emoji with dollar symbols in it's eyes.

He bows.

" Thank you, there is another Toadian here who took part in this tournament but he was distasteful in both combat skills and morality . By the way this is a secret but I'm a Kami from a another timeline." Althena whisper

The next match begins, Incenio betting on Vana, and the two fighters clash.

Back and forth, at incredible speeds, the two dance. Faster than most can see. Blades whirl and fists deflect, neither bothering with energy blasts. Forms, katas, intricate moves dealt and countered flawlessly. The two put on a technical clinic of absolute martial and bladed skill. In fact, from a purely skilled standpoint, they are true masters with no shown equal so far. Even Deathstalker wasn’t as skillful.

Eventually, Samson’s combination of martial skills (Turtle, Crane, Lion, and Dragon styles seen at least) begin to overwhelm the single sword style of the Count. Ten minutes pass after this dance of masters began and the time is called. Both step back and bow, and after a brief conversation, Balon is declared the winner on a slight technical skill.

Incenio’s eyes narrow and his cup in his hand dents in as he grips it.

“A technical loss, I suppose. Lucky pick, Blizzar.”

Blizzar shrugs once more. "Lady Luck...she looks upon me from favor with time to time...I'll take a small break for now and get something to eat, if you don't mind."

With that Blizzar walked over to the bar and returned moments later, having missed the brief bout between Wolf and Thrush Cavalar. He'd noticed Althena had gone somewhere too and while potentially concerning, he didn't have time to look for her now...too much money to be earned.

E. Bekon and the cyborg Anubis are called next.

Incenio chuckles.

“The Emperor of the left over Saiyan race. Heh, true royalty there. I’ll wager on him. 2,000,000 million.”

"A member of the Saiyans? Why I've only heard rumors about them from my parents..." Blizzar stated in mock surprise. "Anubis here appears formidable indeed, but I'd be a fool to bet against the Saiyan....especially a Saiyan emperor."

Blizzar sat down on the couch once more and placed a hand to his chin. "Although...I have a bet to make against you tourself, Incenio. If you're interested, old boy."

"I'm willing to bet that this...Emperor of all Saiyans is in fact....a Super Saiyan," Blizzar noted. "I assume you've heard the legends, yes? I don't think we can say he is based on one foght, but I'm confident we will witness the terrifying power of a Super Saiyan by the tourney's end. In fact, I'm willing to bet...nine hundred million dollars on that fact," he stated with confidence.

Magic? No... he could sense ki from these attacks. Based on their movement, they'd likely curve around to come at him from all sides, leaving him with no avenue of escape. Not a bad attack... cool-looking too.

Drawing back his fists, he charged them with energy, and then met sent a flurry of blows in all directions. Seemingly random as it was, he nonetheless managed to intercept and neutralize nine of the ten attack... but the last one curved around at an angle that, while he could have gotten it... well, he decided that his magnaminous self would allow this warrior to have a freebie. The bolt impacted him and sent him careening through the air, electric pain radiating through his body. Skidding to a stop on his face, he laid there for a split-second, savoring the sensation, before jumping to his feet.

"Whoo, that stings," he said, craning his head to look at Anubis. Raising his hand, he pointed at the sword-wielder with his index and middle fingers, bearing a wicked smirk.

"Bang."

With that, a bullet of green ki shot from his fingers. And then another... and another, and so on and so on.

“Nah! Super Saiyans. A rumor. A mad rumor. You’re on, Blizzar.”

Anubis began to go on the defensive, deflecting each blast but being pushed back with each.

He was definitely skilled, Totoma would give him that. Maybe after all this was done, he'd hire him. The empire could always use skilled fighters, and if he could convince him to train his soldiers... it would definitely be quite useful. Still, that was the future, and he had to focus on the fight at least a little.

Totoma took to the air, still firing blasts at Anubis to keep him on the defensive. In fact, he circled around him, seemingly trying to probe his defenses for a weak spot. None were found. Sure, he could just bumrush the guy, but that was less amusing... although if he kept this up, eventually Anubis would figure out how to turn the tables. And that's why...

Circling around back to his original orientation, Totoma kept up the barrage. However, Anubis was precisely where he wanted him. With the slightest twitch of his unused hand and the mental command of 'Come', the Nine-Toothed Rake launched itself from the arena floor, spinning through the air towards Anubis' back. Internally, he continued that ancient passage about the Rake.

It changes into anything I like,
And leaps about whenever I say the spell.

Yeah, the Nine-Toothed Rake was unorthofox, and he didn't get to use it much, but he did so enjoy those rare fights where he could. That it was one of his few mementos of... before, only made it all the more significant to him.

Anubis does a good job blocking, but eventually he’s maneuvered away and the rake strikes him, sending him down to the floor out if the arena. He catches himself, but not before a foot brushed the outside of the arena. He pauses, then shakes his head and bows to Bekon.

“Well played.”

E Bekon is declared the winner.

That said, and the sounds of what seemed to be a heated battle coming from the viewing screen, the Oni turned to watch this 'Anubis', take on the curiously named 'E Bekon'. Which, being honest ... sounded a lot like the surname of Totoma.

Ishtar tried to recall if the girl had offered her name, and finding she couldn't offered an apologetic shrug. "You never offered your name, at least not that I can remember. Nor do I believe, until this moment, we have even spoken." An oddity considering how well she seemed to know Meagan, yet ... the Oni had been fairly busy since Jagam had fallen. Though there was no time like the present, one supposed.

E Bekon had emerged victorious. During the battle, Sarada had been analyzing Bekon's fighting style… and even that ridiculous rake of his.

What did she learn? His rake had three known abilities: a fire projectile, icy wind, and the ability to come to him with a subtle gesture and, she imagined, a mental command. He also had an energy projectile fired from his finger.

He was also reckless, allowing one of Anubis' blasts to hit him on purpose. It appeared he enjoyed the pain. A thing to account for later.

When the fight was over, Sarada walked away. There was no interest in speaking with Bekon or Anubis. Rather, she wanted to talk to Chris the Knife.
