(...Tamaki, why didn't you write this story for the ongoing...)

I really enjoy when the Gods are around...
I liked all the stories this issue.

"Without Love" - I liked it well enough, cool to see Strife back. Felt this story could have been a longer actually but shows Tamaki could have a good run if her run wasn't the Max Lord book.
"The God With No Name" - Reads like it's trying to fuse New 52 WW with more classic WW with an alternate take on The First Born and Diana confronting one another. "The God With No Name" is also an infinitely better name than "The First Born".
"Homecoming" - Strange one, not entirely sure what is was going for here.
"A Common Motivator" - My favorite of the bunch. Fun competition story with Diana and Nubia. Artemis' ego being on full display here was fun. I'm now looking more forward to seeing what Williams will do on the Nubia miniseries.
“The Acquaintance" - Fairly amusing for the most part.

I think homecoming was about Diana missing Themyscira and her mother.

Tamaki and McKelvie's was a great start. Seriously, can we get more of Jamie McKelvie's Diana!?!
The God With No Name was a pleasant surprise. Shows that writers can definitely mine the Azzarello run for concepts and do cool stuff with it. Loved Corin Howell's art too! Wow, did this story look great.
Homecoming was touching.
A Common Motivator was fun but damn was Artemis just being foul haha. Great facial expressions selling the shade, too. Nubia and Diana's dynamic is intense and I wonder if this is how Stephanie Williams will be writing Nubia in her book. If so, I'm confident I'll be digging it.
The Acquaintance had a funny twist but it did make me realize how much the Zeus as Diana's father keeps getting brought up.
This issue was very New52-heavy. Here I thought the New52 was very disliked by everyone. Rachel Smythe even used New52 Superman in her story. Which is it DC? You're confusing me.
More polarizing/controversial than disliked, I would say. New 52 did bring in a lot of new readers and so it's unsurprising 10 years later some of it's ideas still pop up or remain.
But yeah, there was a lot in this issue; Strife, First Born, blonde Hippolyta, daddy Zeus. Least no straw man Amazons.
