Yeah, I loved The Spectre Showcase Short. I'd watch a whole series like that .
And yeah, even Superman can't budge God's Wrath...
Remember when The Spectre had to sew his own costume?

reprinted in Secret Origins #5 (November-December 1973)

Thank God "Spirit of Vengeance" pays better these days....
I can see the ads now: 'Even the Spirit of Vengeance can sew. What have you done with your life lately?'.
Now I'm just imagining Jim cosplaying as the Spectre because he can't transform any more but still needs to fight crime .
from DC Special #29 (August-September 1977),

Yeah, one thing about The Spectre, even more than Superman it makes you wonder how The Axis didn't simply vanish in 1942.
I know, I know: Spread Of Destiny , Dragon King, blah, blah. Fetching an asteroid to drop on The Reichstag wouldn't have required entering Reich-Held Turf.
Still, watching him do stuff like that is impressive.
that asteroid sure would cause a massive unwanted collateral damage
