Interesting theory and Hickman certainly isn't above doing that sort of wackiness. But I'd say it's pretty unlikely since all of those characters have suddenly disappeared from the modern landscape, where if it was a "future state" it could be much more explainable why they aren't around post 12 issue arch (that we know of).

Can anyone guess WHY Reed and Sue clench their fist when Scott mentions their son???
Also, why is Sue questioning what Mutants are doing in Krakoa and what Xavier has in store??

+Magneto just being awesome in general
-I wish the Brotherhood vs Fantastic Four fight was a bit more drawn out, not enough action for my taste
Not that Sabretooth, Mystique or Toad could really do something in this fight to make it longer.

    They're protective of their son?

Hickman wrote ultimate avengers. and we have some ultimate characters on 616 and soon spider-gwen

Probably because Scott made a subtle “you are more involved and complacent in our world than you’d like” jab at them about their son. Any parent would get apprehensive, whether it’s warranted or not.

I'm unclear on that as well. I figure by #6 it should be laid out. My theory is that Krakoa somehow has a connection to all living and dead mutants. Somehow it has evolved (with the help of Charles) to be able to re-create bodies for the fallen and Charles helps to place the memories stored in Krakoa into the right people.
if thats the case then they would be clones as their bodies would exist elsewhere, still able to be resurrected by other means. I dont know how Charles would be able to restore memories of dead people. These clones would be very incomplete bc all Xavier would have to offer them are flashbacks from his and other character's POV, not the originals actual memories

The most exciting X-Men comic I’ve read in over 20 years, I have no idea where they’ll go with this but it’s awesome.

Pepe NEEDS to be on a wave 2 book like Uncanny, he is just incredible and the Joe Mad of comics right now who funny enough influenced him in his work.

Hmm, ok I can see that. I just didn't see how they can get angry when no threat was detected. Also, Sue questioning the motive of mutants made me feel some type of way.

I don't know... "Your son's REAL family awaits him" is a pretty passive aggressive thing to say to two parents about their child.

Well to be fair they're definitely up to SOMETHING beyond giving out miracle drugs in order to leverage sovereignty for their nation.

I also took it as Cyclops implying that mutantkind is Franklin’s real family rather than the Richards. I’d be annoyed if someone said that about my kid.

Everyone else has said it better than me, so A+ on world-building.

I'm interested to see what comes next when we get to individual character POVs. The mishmash of different mutants with different ideologies works best as a metaphor for the founding of Israel as a nation-state, but I keep thinking of the 'founding fathers' of Ireland- a hodgepodge of fantasists, socialists and pragmatists who could unite around an immediate, pressing need but exploded all over each other after that moment passed.

Surely every mutant isn't going to agree with Xavier and Magneto giving amnesty to people like Sabretooth and Apocalypse (is there a mutant truth and reconciliation commission?).

Is every mutant going to sideline their other identities for that of a mutant, like Cyclops expects Franklin Richards to do? Is it being forced on them all or are they freely choosing to go to Krakoa?

There's something about this that feels a bit like 'House of M' for Professor X. He's creeping with the eyeless smile at the naked, newborn Scott and Jean.

The art on Sue's reaction was amazing.

Scott's last statement looked like a jab to me, but I didn't get that message. I took it as, Franklin has other family if he decides to consider his options.

Reed and Sue are his parents so of course they're going to be a little peeved since they're protecting their son.
