Who are Storm's main adversaries? Shadow King and the Adversary. All well and good but they don't provide enough of a physical presence to allow Storm to have more opportunities to show a fighting style. We've seen plenty of strike and pose moments but we haven't seen her in many straight up brawls. She needs to be tested on all levels. I suggest that they give her more melee fights, where she's taking on multiple fighters at the same time. This will allow her to showcase all of he powers and fighting skills.

More defining arcs and storylines. How many defining story arcs has she really had in recent years. She's had a few good storylines here and there but nothing defining recently. She need her own "Born Again" storyline like Daredevil, or "The Client" by Priest. I would also include "Who is the Black Panther" by Hudlin. She needs more storylines like this that people will remember, not just for the feats but for the character defining moments.

I'll say it again, she needs to expand her presence outside of the X-Verse so that she doesn't get boxed in to a predictable trope. It can't just be the X-villain of the week or an overuse of introspective stories. It has to be a mix of various story types and new experiences outside of the regular X-verse. A brief stint with the GotG wouldn't be bad at all.

That's just my two cents.

Honestly, they don't appear enough on a consistent basis. And I thought Belasco was more Illyana's enemy than Storm's.

The thing is, they can't write a Storm title like it's a Vertigo book. That's a sure fire way to a short series.

1. Adversary
2. Loki
3. Hela
4. Belasco
5. Daracula
6. Shadow King
Make a story out of each Villain and incorporate a guest Star.

I agree. Storm just needs to venture out of the X-Verse and start meeting new heroes and old. Storm and Jane Foster have not communicate since Secret Wars.

While Storm certainly has a connection to the above baddies and they all should be a part of her rogues gallery, when these villains are mentioned, I don't think Storm would be considered their arch-nemesis. Not like they way The Res Skull is immediately associated with Captain America, or Green Goblin to Spider-Man or the Mandarin to Iron Man.

Here are the primary heroes I associate with the villains above:

Shadow King - Xavier
Adversary - Forge (Storm didn't actually beat him. He was summoned and sent back by Forge.)
Belasco - Illyana
Dracula - The Van Helsings

The only character that Storm does truly have as an arch enemy is Callisto and I will never see her as an real threat to Storm.

Storm needs a baddie of her caliber and a story with high stakes that pushes her and her powers to the limited to go to the next level.

I think this is a good area of exploring her powers more same with Magic. PERSONALLY, i'd rather see the Cosmic route not make her SUPER powerful, but subtle.
Carol Danvers and Alpha Flight are said to be Earth's Last Defense. I disagree I think STORM should be Earth's Last Defense. Let Carol be First Defense and Storm last Defense.

That's why I agree for Storm to venture into space, she'd be able to protect the Earth with her Cosmic Energy. Because if Carol D and Alpha Flight fails. Storm can step up to the plate.

Tough question. We did a lot (buying extra issues, made reviews for every issue, tweeted, instagrammed, promoted it on comic chat forums, etc.). I’m not sure there is more we could do beyond that. Marvel and the creative team need to really come with it.

Coates writing and promoting BP (besides the usual dedicated fanbase) was a nice big push off to get his book started strong, but Marvel also paved the way to help make BP’s presence in the MU significant long before his solo hit.

They need to do the same with Storm. Start making Ororo interesting and have a compelling presence in the X-Verse and MU right now. She needs inclusion multiple significant roles that has significant impact and she needs to take a stand that is not typical and predictable for her, but at the same time makes a strong statement. And they need to promote the hell out of the book loke how they did Jane Foster Thor.

Besides that - regular tie-ins, stories with other major players that have significance, and let her full story run its course so readers can really connect with her character.

these are all great ideas but how as readers can we drive her to be in these stories? it really seems like the solo will be doomed from the start especially if they continue to use her in the fashion they are currently doing. i mean at this current point she is irrelevant. it frustrating because she shouldn't be but frustration wont make the status quo change. it honestly feels like a hopeless cause.

Like Roi Reigns said, play the marketing game. Every event needs to have a Storm tie in/crossover directly related. Feature other heroes. Tie her into other stories. They need to use EVERY single avenue to expose her and garner interest again. IDC what people say about having too many guest stars etc, she needs it right now to stay in the lime light and eventually after i'd say a year she'll be able to carry the book much more on her own. Right now it will fail if they don't use this route of sort of piggy backing on the popular heroes and events.

I agree with all that you said. I just don't see marvel making a push for her character like they have for jane. im hopeful coates will have a little more pull but if that doesnt happen i completely agree this book will be a failure.

Yes this is right. If Thor appeared in her Book Thor fans will grab it. If Hulk or Captain Marvel or Dr.Strange appeared in her book THOSE fans will grab it.

So yes this is absolutely right. She needs guest stars from other Heroes and villains, that will bring attention to her solo. I don't doubt Coates ability in doing this, but if we want better marketing and advertisement this is what needs to happen.

i agree 100% with this post. what do you think about her having her little cornerof the MU that revolve around the bright lady amd her pantheon of gods/goddesses? build a society, rogue, and allies that center around this akin to WW and the Amazons or Thor and asgard.

yea i know it's an uphill battle but im pretty sure most storm fans here will buy the book and not pirate if the stories are worth reading.

and i dont want storm to be promiscuous, i know some here wouldn't mind, but i wouldnt want to see her go down that parh. storm is a goddess only the best can get a taste of the golden kitty (though the X-offices ruined that with wolverine).

First let's make a list of sympathetic authors and editors and get them to do the work for us. Fans are great for bringing light to an issue but this is a marvel thing. Marvel will have to do this work. That's the tricky part because they decided captain marvel is their wonder woman. We have to break them off that perversion.

First we need a to do list. It needs to start yesterday. They plan their arcs and marketing six months in advance. Unless they can experience the love and the support from the planning phase then we are just waiting in the wings to eat what they are going to serve instead of planning the menu.

Omg YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!! It's clear from this article that it was Yana Harvey that had Storm admit to Misty that she belonged to multiple demographics. I am now obsessed with this woman! In Yana Harvey I trust. She's quite possibly the best thing to happen to Storm in the last few years. This woman needs more Storm work!
