But carols history of being with mutants isn't consistent with her actions of supporting civil war or wanting to lock up miles based on a premonition. Nor is her not showing up to help mutants in her book when a significant part of her stories have been tied to them. Including losing and gaining power. But then fans wants us to go back 20 years to when some of us where 15/16 to remember continuity current writers don't respect and fans wash off as it would take over the book. But if that is truly part of the character it should be part of the book. So Carol's voice sounded like her in she has a new passion for saving the stars exclusively to the point she chose to leave while mutants were being gassed but her history wasn't respected or continuity as she didn't show up for mutants in their time of need like they did for her.

You're just describing what happens when continuity isn't respected. No need to be a slave to it, but there's a line.
    Does it need doing?
    Yes.
    Then it will be done.

The Legion of Super-Heroes had a (real world) annual fan vote for leader, so I imagine however they present the vote storywise, it'll be annually from our perspective but the timing won't be directly addressed on page.
(Then there is the whole possibility that the status quo won't remain long enough to support a 2nd or 3rd annual vote.)

Mind you this was before Children of the Atom. So if that order was still in place-those kids are not mutants or they are mutants-who use to be someone else. We don't know everyone from Miles's Universe that came over.
If Hickman doesn't want any new mutants, he didn't really think through bringing Arrako over to Krakoa. Either he's got to ignore all the Arroka mutants, making the plot point meaningless, or he's got to introduce a lot of new mutants from Arrako. (SWORD just introduced one)

I see what you are trying to do, and unfortunately for those who wish otherwise, books will not have every character who should show up, showing up. They probably won't even be able to have them be mention or mention the events. There is just too much going on to have every book keep referencing every other book, and it will absolutely suck the energy out of most of the books that have to be the ones doing that.

So, no, people who are Captain Marvel fans do not want to be reading a book where she keeps talking about everything going on in every other book where she might know someone.

And contrary to popular opinion, X-Men fans do not want to be reading a book where the Avengers show up to save the X-Men every issue.

What people do want is for the character they like not to be written dumb just because it serves the story or worse that the writer just acts like they are a blank slate.

That's it, that's the bare minimum. I think most would be happy with just this.
    Does it need doing?
    Yes.

Youd think Carol Danvers be a lil more wary of hanging out with people who seemingly didnt give a fvck about her getting mysteriously knocked up...

I mean it was the X-Men who were there for her when her teammates were cool with her going off with her rapist/son(?)

You'd think she'd be a lil more concerned with their welfare. All the Avengers were seemingly unconcerned...He The Pretender thought she had a buddy to play pretend mommy with but Carol wasn't having shy of fgsr sh!t
