Are there plans for future Festival of Heroes specials? Because the Asian characters of the Flash family need more love. Irey and Jai West were in a pinup but otherwise? None of them appeared. They didn't even get bios in the back. Would love to see a story focusing on, say, Meena Dhawan or Avery Ho.

Peng Deilan the WW of China would be a good addition. Same with the North Korean Aquaman "Dragonson".

Peng could become friends with Naomi. Dragonson might discuss America from a Foreign perspective with Black Adam.

I think overall, DC has a better roster of Asian heroes than Marvel. Although I wish DC would use theirs more.

I would love an ongoing with Connor Hawke that's in the same vein as his story in the 'Festival of Heroes', same with Ryan Choi.

Also, a few more characters of Korean and also South Asian descent would be nice. I think Japanese and Chinese culture has gotten a fair bit of spotlight already.

    Maya Chamara (Earth 8)
    Doctor Multiverse
    First Appearance
    Justice League Incarnate #1
    (January, 2022)

Dr. Maya Chamara is Doctor Multiverse, a hero from Earth 8 who posseses the powers of the Multiverse. No alternate versions of her exist in any other reality.

    Notes
The character is a pastiche of Marvel's Captain Universe.

Her origin story of being exposed to cosmic radiation is similar to the Fantastic Four.

    Trivia
Her name indicates that she is likely of Sri Lankan descent.

Possibly, but it seems quite troubling that DC has basically ruined their seemingly most popular or at least 1 of their most popular Asian heroes for several years, has Batgirls so far even nearly succeeded in repairing at least some of the damage that they did to the allegedly toxic Cassandra Cain?

    Getting back to this.
Marvel has more asian heroes then dc and shown more on average.
Now someone thinking dc has the more interesting or better heroes or marvel having the better or more interesting asian heroes is a personnel viewpoint.
Keep in mind marvel has more original asian heroes then dc.
    Less legacy stuff etc...
Anyway both marvel and dc has done a better job over the years when it comes to asian representation.

Anyway here are the top 10 asian heroes that are seen or have the most canon comic appearances from marvel and dc.
For dc i am including current canon and versions that were canon but not anymore etc..
    Example -pre flashpoint,post flashpoint etc..
Legion of superheroes-past version and current version(of course it's not canon to the post flashpoint and pre flashpoint dc universe).

I am not listing them in order.

    DC

    Cassandra Cain
    Doctor Light
    Grace Choi
    Ryan Choi
    Damian Wayne
    Val Armorr
    Simon Baz
    Rose Wilson
    Jericho
    Marvel
    Jubilee
    Shang-Chi
    Armor
    Wong

Yeah, Marvel's got like 127 Asian heroes (46 mutants alone!), mostly from China, India, Japan and Korea, with like six middle-easterners, a couple of Vietnamese ladies, one Indonesian, a team of Filipinos we've hardly ever seen, etc. (And a few villains from made-up countries like Madripoor and Sin Cong.)

Both companies could do better. Marvel's only got books with Shang-Chi, Silk, the new Iron Fist, etc. out, with 'derivative' characters like the new Asian Iron Fist or the Korean Spider-Girl, and not enough standalone characters like Jade Dragon, Collective Man, Komodo, Indra, Colleen Wing, Dust or Haechi.

Similarly, I'd love to see more focus on non-derivative Asian DC characters like Striker Z or Thunderlord or Katana or Dragonmage, and perhaps not so much on the Asian Robin, Green Arrow, Flash, Atom or Green Lantern.

The other asian lead marvel books or books that are asian focused with original heroes that came within the past few recent years were-

    Aero Vol 1 (2019–2020)
Agents of Atlas(team books with some original asian heroes as well)
Future Fight Firsts: Crescent and Io
    Wave
The recent Ultraman marvel comics(Rise of Ultraman and Trials of Ultraman comics)
    Kid Kaiju(awhile back)
Sword Master before he became the new Iron fist.

The male Impulse (Bart) is not half Asian.
You’re getting him confused with his female cousin (Irie) who is half Asian.

    Okay.
I look it up again and read which impulse it was.
You are right it's the female one.
I forgot she is called impulse too.

    Edited above.
    I put in Val Armorr.

Note- There is the asian white looking Val Armorr(the original version) and the recent rebooted east asian looking Val Armorr.
