Sorry, not on board for that.
Trinary offered to help Jean too. And she wasn't in prison and legally arrested, she was kidnapped by that guy that was doing something sketchy and was gonna use her powers for something.

Trinity is a GD socialist? How can Jean support this?

Oh wait.... now I know why it’s called RED!

I liked this issue. Asrar’s characters look great.

Jean doesn’t know how to buy flattering pants.

I wonder if Taylor will eventually have Team Red adventure in Australia. That would be awesome!!!

Still, excessive force by Jean's team. She could have tp'd the guards and no one had to lose fingers to get Trinary out of there.

Isn't that the main flaw of powerful telepaths in general though (Emma, Jean, Rachel, Psylocke) I mean what's stopping any of those individuals from immediately inducing a sleep command on their adversaries and Bam fights over before it even started. I think at this point you just have to use suspension of belief and just take it Taylor wanted to showcase the team working together.

I did think it was kind of weird that neitherJean or Kurt seem to react at all to Laura cutting off that guy's fingers but then I remembered they've been on the same team as Wolverine many many times lol

I mean when you have a teammate that has little knives popping out of their fist you just have to expect at a certain point limbs are going to be lost.

I don't remember a single instance of Logan slicing off a person's fingers casually(and for no good reason) in a classic X-Men story. This kind of violence might fly in X-Force, but I don't like seeing it in X-Men, especially not with Jean in charge and Kurt her number two.

No, I'm not down with such a lax attitude concerning gratuitous violence.

You're right, it does, 'cause of the "Plus" part:

The Hate Machine Part 3 • The battle rages in India, and the newest X-Men member may be the key to the team's survival. • GAMBIT is caught up the intensifying global frenzy of mutant hate. • Plus: Could one of JEAN GREY's oldest friends turn foe?
... and it's now got me wonderin' if the friend turning enemy is NOT a result of Nova's mind control, but maybe an honest-to-goodness disagreement over the situation Jean & her team have found themselves in, and how they've handled/are handling it. Working with Namor? Sanctuary in Wakanda? This latest illegal bit in India, with Trinary?

I checked the scene again and it's not a guard who loses his fingers, is the guy who had Trinary.

    4's solicit mentions they're corrupted:

    • JEAN GREY and her team of X-Men are trying to save the world…but one mutant could spoil that for everyone. • When an old friend of Jean's is corrupted and turned against her, will Jean have to do the unthinkable?

No it doesn't, I think you misunderstood it. When it says turned against her it means turned against Jean.

I think Loke has a point, such as, how do telekinetics struggle or lose fights when they can levitate someone and make that person spin in the air? super hero fights generally are not the logical outcome of the powers of the characters present in the book
