Some real-life aspects of the X-Men

Shi'ar tech covers most of that. It's been shown rebuilding the mansion automatically in the past. In Damage Control, for one, although that was a bit of a joke title. Early in X-Force, Boom-Boom used Shi'ar tech to redesign the team's costumes. The question is, where does it get the raw materials? Recycling only goes so far.



That makes sense; too bad they never deal with that kind of thing in the books. I believe most of the psi-powered characters studied psychology, though. (When the original GenX started there was a special that listed everyone's majors.) That would mitigate some mental health problems. Whether it's an ethical solution is another question, of course,.

That would depend heavily on who they were and how they used their powers. The issue is that most psychics are either awful or crazy.

Are members of X-Force, X-Factor and Excalibur to be considered proper and legit "X-Men" working into independent cells/teams, but always "X-Men" anyway?

They live in a communal way since none of them have jobs except Warren and Dr. Cecilia Reyes. Beast recently had a job.

I know Scott once had a job as a disc jockey and Jean was a model. But I'm sure those funds ran out years ago.

Many X-Men earn a living, or they did in the past (Karma, for instance, worked for Xavier from the beginning and she was librarian later).

No really...each incarnation of X-men for long time had at least on multi millionaire in the team, one with obvious visible mutation, a psionic one, an energy eruptor one, and one with weird power and/or elemental powers. ALWAYS.
After 2000 it changed a bit...but mostly because millionaire don't gorw on tree...and oddly when Xavier was not around to run things...one could suspect he did not choose X-men randomly

Karma has a multi billion dollar company now, Magneto has a hoard of Nazi gold he stole from Hydra, Gambit heads the Thieves guild so he has to have money and Cable must have made a killing as a mercenary how else can he afford all those guns.

1-With it being a private school it is very much likely a non-profit organization. It takes donations from wealthy people and turns that into revenue for the school.
2-Being labeled an educational institution they can also get state and federal grants for such things as books, equipment, staff etc.
3-Xavier being rich I am sure the family fortune has been invested time and again which is where and how much of the money is kept going.
4-Much of the staff at the school are X-men so they fall under paid staff. Likewise with them living at the school, they aren't having to pay for housing and I would say much of their income might even be rolled back into the school as donations.
So there are several factors going into the "real world" workings of the school.

So many of them are a mystery. We know that Angel was the only rich one of the O5, but it quickly gets weird. How much money does Ilyanna have access to? Is there gold in Limbo? She owns *the entire dimension,* after all. Can Amara call up funds as a daughter of a Nova Roman senator, or is that even a thing anymore? Even if not, can she just wave her hand and bring molten gold bubbling to the surface of the earth?
