I would imagine both companies now being owned by fierce competitors has put the final nail in the coffin.
I think it started when Bill Jemas came aboard Marvel and started to fan the flames of the rivalry again, and Quesada jumped in as well.

Bendis was just a little miffed because he was planning to do a Batman/Daredevil crossover that didn't happen because of the "feud" between DC and Marvel. He also said he wasn't expecting to ever work at DC after getting in an argument with a DC executive about it .

I don't remember Bendis, but I do know DC got really pissed at some interview Quesada gave when the first Spider-Man movie came out and was a hit, where he basically made fun of WB (in very colorful language) for failing to capitalize on Batman and Superman.

I mean, they have Batman and Superman, and they don't know what to do with them. That's like being a porn star with the biggest dick and you can't get it up.

Which always struck me as funny, since Superman and Batman were getting movies and tv shows (and successful ones) decades before Raimi made Spider-Man. Hell, didn't Superman have a successful show when that first Spidey film hit? Didn't Batman have years of a successful cartoon under his belt at that same time?

I mean, Marvel's made some great movies in recent years and you cannot understate how successful the MCU is. But Clark and Bruce have been finding larger media success for over seventy years. Their success in larger media actually pre-dates people having tv's in their homes.

Yeah, that's probably correct. I don't remember the specifics. I just recall reading an interview with Quesada and Bendis prior to the Disney buyout in which they were asked about future crossovers with DC, and one/both admitting that it probably wouldn't happen because of some things they said.

Oh, it's a tremendously stupid comment, no doubt. But I'm assuming the context for this was in the aftermath of the Batman movies going on hiatus after the failure of Batman and Robin, and WB's continued failure to get a new Superman movie off the grounds. I don't know how public the Superman Lives fiasco was at that point though, but I know they spent a large chunk of the 90s trying to find a way to reboot Superman on film after The Quest For Peace flopped in the late 80s, and the projects kept falling apart.

If there was a marvel vs dc game I would want the real dc heroes not the injustice versions. If we ever got a crossover in games I bet it would be a lego marvel vs dc as wb makes the lego marvel games and star wars was in the lego movie (a wb film).

A ultimate alliance crossover could work also but lego has the most chance at a crossover.

On the other hand mantis is in lego marvel 2 so you have a crossover right there as she has lived in both universes!

Vixen would have to be her own character and not a skin for another character like in Injustice 2.
Black Panther - Champion of Bast
    Vixen - Champion of Anansi

I don't believe the current rumors, because again, real world WB vs Disney.
