i remember that issue. bought it specifically because it had hal on the cover. got me hooked with adventures and dan jurgens. art thibert really complimented dan jurgens' pencils.

Jurgens/Thibert were one of the great penciller/inker combos of that period. (Shoemaker/ Thibert may have been better had they gotten to work together more)
I like it too as long as it doesn't grow into a full-fledged beard. Also, he should have kept this look in the 90s. Makes him look like a gritty veteran than the fuddy-duddy elder statesman he became towards the end of his vol. 3 run.
