I'll deal with it IF it happens. But right now it's the "HAHAHA! Disney is getting the X-Men back, so long Fox verse!" people who are getting ahead of themselves and being petty, smug @#$%s about it.

Do you really think Fox is just gonna say 'nope, we changed our minds, we want to sell to Comcast' after an agreement has already been made and publicly announced? Hello lawsuits. No, if the govt shuts the deal down what makes you think Comcast would get any further in that respect? If the deal falls through due to govt then Fox will just split it all up and most likely sell off the X-Men/FF to Disney and the other assets to another bidder such as Comcast.

Disney has every single reason to get the X-Men back, no one else (as Fox has said IIRC) has a better claim to that property.

Comcast is already bidding $10 billion higher and the WSJ is saying they're going to do an even bigger bid. At the end of the day, it's all about cash.

There's been a rumor for months also that there us a caveat in the original contract that makes the rights nontransferable and if Comcast buys Fox the Marvel rights will revert back to Marvel. Truth is this merger is not about X-Men, Deadpool, and FF even for Disney it's about the entire entity that is Fox and all their I.P.'s.

No they don't own them just like Sony doesn't own Spider-Man they leased the film rights we already know for a fact the film rights revert back to Marvel if films aren't made every few years. So it's very possible this rumor is true and there is a caveat that also says the film rights are non transferable and in case of company sale revert back to Marvel.

Exactly people hanging on to Fox-men seriously should let it go. My only hope after the deal is that the X-Men are completely recast. That would make this deal most perfect.

Well, I have a moderate dislike for the direction Fox takes with its main 'X-Men' movies (they do all right with the spin-offs), and I love the MCU.

No it's not a possibility when the fox owner had said he is happy and prefers Disney have the assets.

Important to remember that the shareholders want their cut and that's a safe bet with Disney with a lot of potential to make more down the road. Not so much with Comcast. Comcast is not in the shareholders best 'interest' , which is why there hasn't been a forced vote even though Comcast offered 10b more up front.

In my opinion Comcast is a horrible company, and their garbage customer service is probably well known by Fox shareholders who probably have to put up with them personally as their home service. Oh the sweet, sweet justice porn that would be if that ended up being the reason Fox and its shareholders didn't pick Comcast as a group. Reap what you sow Comcast you smuts.

I think they are either younger folks that grew up on Singer's ...'version'...of the X-Men and that's what they know or they are right-wing conservatives that hate Disney (and I say that as a conservative myself). The folks like me that grew up on comic book X-Men and even TAS X-Men just want a return to prominence and Disney is the ONLY company that can give that back to us. (games, marketing, apparel, better stories, better movies etc)
