My next 3 volumes are almost done.

Here are two covers (I mostly made these except for the spines):

Mostly not my covermaking skills, but my ideas:

I'm super excited for all of these, especially my Thanos volume which is like all the big Thanos stories through Infinity Gauntlet.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Hello! This is my first post on the site. I found CBR while researching comic book binding and I have read through this entire thread. It has been super informative. I wanted to post my excitement that I received notification from Herring & Robinson TODAY that my first order is ready for shipment! I intend to upload some pictures after I receive the books. Cheers

Here are the Herring & Robinson books I received today. Such beautiful craftsmanship! As you can tell I went for a simple style that is uniform. All of the books are HAND SEWN from original floppies. All are buckram cloth with head/tail bands and bookmarks.

Default Ex Machina from Herring & Robinson

    EX MACHINA
    Vaughan
    Harris

    WILDSTORM

    Map:

    Volume 1 – 18 issues
    Ex Machina 1-16
    1-5 State of Emergency (2004)
    6-10 Tag (2005)
    11 Fortune Favors (2005)
    12-14 Fact v. Fiction (2005)
    15-16 Off the Grid (205/6)
Special 1-2: Life and Death (2006)

    Volume 2 – 19 issues
    Ex Machina 17-29
    17-20 March to War (2006)
    21-24 Smoke Smoke (2006/7)
    25 Standalone (2007)
    26-29 Power Down (2007)
    Special 3: Masquerade (2007)
    Ex Machina 30-33
    30-33 Ex Cathedra (2007/8)
Ex Machina: Inside the Machine (2007)

    Volume 3 – 18 issues
    Ex Machina 34-40
    34 World’s Finest (2008)
    35 The Race (2008)
    36-39 Dirty Tricks (2008/9)
    40 Ruthless (2009)
    Special 4: Grassroots (2009)
    Ex Machina 41-50
41-44 Ring Out the Old (2009)
    45-49 Pro-Life (2009/10)
    50 Vice (2010)

You can really tell that squeezing that 19th issue in the second volume is a stretch for a hand sew. I really recommended smaller binds if possible; 12-16 is probably ideal.

Let's play 'spot the error!' It was pretty disappointing, but, I already contacted H&R and it should be a simple fix. I'm just going to send the Jessica Jones edition back with my next order to get that final 'S' stamped on there.

    Default The Sandman map

This is the project I have been working towards - this first order, although relatively large, was a trial run. I want to have The Sandman series bound in 6 volumes. After many different attempts, this is the map that I am currently leaning towards. I would appreciate any feedback on it. I'm also undecided on the binding material. I was thinking about black buckram but now I'm considering imitation leather.

    The SANDMAN

    McKean

    9-16: The Doll’s House

    Volume 2 – 16 Issues

    29-31: Distant Mirrors

    32-37: A Game of You
    38-40: Convergence
    41-49: Brief Lives

The Sandman 70-75: The Wake (Aug 1995-March 1996)
    The Dreaming 8 (1996)
The Sandman Universe 1 (Aug 2018)

    Volume 6 – 16 Issues
