That scene sort of reminds me of John Stewart and the Green Lantern Corps trying to stop AMAZO in that JLU episode.

John will be the mentor of the teen green lantern in the upcoming graphic novel-Green Lantern Legacy.

It seems the lead's granny was a GL and the ring was passed on to him. The review in Kirkus doesn't mention the other established lanterns but implies a lot of new ones.
