Haha, now I have that stuck in my head.

Perhaps non-heterosexuality just isn't stigmatized in modern Krakoa, for mutants who have faced persecution and found self acceptance in many ways. Or it could be just a societal practice like in classical antiquity, or ritualized like for tribes around the globe. It's comics, so the IRL norm or 1960s standard will be less and less relevant as progress happens (including hiring more diverse writers).

As fun as discussing the sexual preferences of fictional characters may be, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the X-office and the current roster of X-creators, which I believe is as diverse as it's ever been in terms of sexuality and gender identities. Someone please correct me if I'm misremembering, misinterpreting or forgetting anyone:

Kieron Gillen, Al Ewing, Leah Williams and Tini Howard are all bisexual.
Steve Orlando is gay.
Vita Ayala is non-binary.
Lucas Werneck and Russell Dautermann are both gay.
Jan Bazaldua is trans.

Here's to all these creators, the X-editors for hiring them and their straight allies!

As an aside, X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo is gay too.

All the queer kids who grew up connecting with the mutants in the 80s and 90s are taking charge now. So when is the omega Xagneto ship gonna be canonized?

Huh? show me canonical evidence that shows Bobby and Same aren't smashing...Why can't they be best friends and (former)? lovers? There are friendships in existence that survives a FWB-type phase.....I mean I've never been in one, and never heard of one in this reality but Damn It if anyone can make it work and rise above the inevitable pettiness that kills most FWB Mutants can. That's cause Wolverine is fvcking weird, that whole pairing is a lil sus, just a lil less sus than when Storm+Cable was trying become a thing.
