Default Do you miss Kelly Sue DeConnick's Captain Marvel?

It's been over 5 years since KSD left Marvel. I liked her run on Captain Marvel. But I really wish that she had added Peter Parker(as often as she did with Jessica Drew) in a guest spot during her run on the series. Any way, do you feel that KSD should return to Captain Marvel for another run?

She had a good run. At the time I was sad to see it end but I thought it was pretty satisfying overall. If she came back, I'd probably check it out. I have no interest in seeing yet another Spider-Man crossover, though.

KSD never had any crossovers with Spider-Man during her run on either Captain Marvel or Avengers Assembled, other than a small cameo. In contrast to Brian Reed, KSD was not keen on the idea of Spider-Man and Carol Danvers as friends. When she did Avenging Spider-Man, it was on the suggestion of Stephen Wacker. The same applied to the initial Captain Marvel series where Spidey made a cameo that was intended to be Spider-Woman. A real shame that KSD never liked to write Spider-Man in her stories. It might had brought more readers to her published works...

Half of it was whatever, half of it was real good, and all of it is Air Force propaganda.

No, I haven't missed it. It was kind of meh, IMO.

Not going to vote; I enjoyed KSD's first volume but didn't care for most of the second so my poll answer would depend on which KSD run we're talking about.

But overall I love what KSD did for Carol, both on the page and in the real world. A whole lot of Carol's modern day profile and status is due to KSD, directly or indirectly, and while I'd demand better quality than her second volume I'd never say no to KSD returning to the character if she had something new to say about Carol.

TBH, I dropped the DeConnick run after two or three issues.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

    Same here.

For my money, Kelly Thompson’s run has been far superior.

Thompson building a credible rogues gallery has been key.

Hmmm. Here I thought I was one of the few who didn't like KSD Captain Marvel. 80% of people voting thus far agree.

It's always interesting to me to look at sales.

    Kelly Thompson:Captain Marvel sales:
    May #5 - 26,086
    June #6 - 31,297
    June #7 - 26,141
    July #8 - 32,939
    August #9 - 37,888 (introduces new character)
    September #10 - 27,498

    KSD: Captain Marvel Sales
    #5- 29,000

Couldn't find the other individual sales after a several minute search but comparing #5 of each author, KSD sold about 20% more units.

Right, but the rest of Marvel has, endlessly.

I tend to agree with her.

I can't stand her writing at times, making Carol humorous. So overall I did not like that series. But it did give her a good boost I suppose.
