Do you understand how many people are 16 million??? In a single attack, no even the atomic bomb come even close.

In real life, USA and Russia could have been go to war for this, blaming each other, every goverment of every country will be paranoid.

Those conflicts are ignored because people in our countries doesnt feel affected. The Genosha attack is third world war scale.

But not in the US, Canada, England, Australia, France, etc, There is a logic to where things happen. It wasn't a surprise when a bunch of states passed anti-abortion laws that didn't even allow for rape to be considered as reason to not have a baby. The US and the other countries can be racist as hell BUT also comfortable enough for minorities to live happy in it and never push for real change. There is a difference be small scale persecution and daily microaggression and running for your life because they will kill you. Racism doesn't make sense in Marvel because they are running for their lives in countries build on rules to stop oppression I mean it doesn't stop everything but it stops enough to where minorities on a whole scale aren't scared for their life. There is a reason the KKK wore masks. Racism is more logicial and predictable than people give credit.

Children were literally dying of easily curable illnesses in cages at the mexican borders. European countries have been doing the most to ensure african migrants dont reach their shores, whether that meant letting them drown in the mediterannean sea or facilitating the come back of slavery in Libya. And Im not even going to get into widespread racially motivated police executions because Im trying to have a good day.

At the end of the day, the depiction of regular humans in the MU makes a lot of people uncomfortable not because its exaggerated and unrealistic but bc its way too similar to the things ppl would rather look the other way from in real life.

No one cares about Mutants which is the whole point. Even when Wanda Decimated Mutants no one cared. When Mutants were being killed by Terrigen Mist no one cared when Mutants were being killed by Legacy Virus no one cared.

The thing is that the average MU citizen had never even heard of mutants until less than 15 years ago, so it makes sense they'd react differently (besides the fact mutants have actual superpowers).

Plus, we don't know the entire world is as strictly anti-mutant as the US is. For example, Japan is a place that has been show to be more tolerant of mutants than the US in a few occasions.

It's not surprising that racism against mutants is so rampant in the Marvel Universe because honestly it's really rampant in our own world. Gerrymandering in the United States is a coordinated strategy and entrenched racism of the Republican Party to prevent African American, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and other minorities from being able to vote or undermining the worth of those votes, to keep those minorities in "their place" and prevent them from being able to have the ability to define the government of the United States as truly equal citizens.

It is surprising that this racism target exclusively the X-Men or x-gene mutants but no other mutant or alien on earth.

Which is actually really dumb but at this point you cant fight 50 years of writing.

I mean, if you can make the entire plantet not giving a single fuck about the destruction of 16 million of people in a matter of seconds, then everything is possible.
