Like Feige had the level of control on those non-MCU films like he has on the MCU films. He threatened to walk if Disney didn't fire Ike Perlmutter and make him the ultimate power over Marvel Studios (a necessary threat though to ensure the success and survival of the MCU in the long run).
Having said that, isn't Black Panther proof that he can venture out of the MCU formula and give a director, if he or she is established enough, the required creative freedom?
Ike Perlmutter just limited Marvel Studios. If you think the current movies are too formulatic, with him it would be even more. They have only gotten better ever since he left.
All those movies you named Feige was an associate producer, executive producer or co-producer. He was not the main producer which oversees all aspects of production.
No
Disney couldn’t control Perlmutter, so they choose Feige, because they can control him better.
Feige is just an employee, he has to answer to Alan Horn and whatever Horn says is final.
Feign is just the face of the MCU, but Horn is the ruler.
But Feige at least on a public level seems easier to work with over Ike.
LOL. Disney didn't have anything againt Ike Perlmutter. He's still in charge of Marvel Entertainment. The change was that Marvel Studios used to be part of Marvel Entertainment(which is why they had to report to Perlmutter) and Feige asked to be separate. Disney had no reason to go against Perlmutter as Marvel and the MCU were already/still doing great while he was on(though now without him they're doing even better).
And weren't you just saying a while ago that Feige was controlling everything which is why the directors can't do anything? You need to stop making up some ridiculous new theory every time someone refutes your arguments. Just because Alan Horn is Feige's superior in Disney doesn't mean he has anything to do with the MCU creatively.
What do you think that means. Executive producer and Studio Head are way different things
Let be clear about something Kevin Feige gets wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much credit for Marvel success. Which is why I am also not giving him as much credit for "creative" movie making flaws so to speak you guys are want to blame him for right now.
What Kevin Feige deserve credit for 23 movies that feel cohesively that they are in the same universe despite having different themes and types of superheroes. What you some of guys are calling a flaw is it is a feature , It is like comic event and Marvel uses Stuart Immonen, R.B. Silva, Pepe Larraz, Jim Cheung on art versus a event with Joe Mad, Alex Ross, Rob Liefeld, John Romita Jr on event. Which is going to go better? Obviously the first one because while being different stuff they feel similar.

I feel like the russo brothers deserve a lot of credit for making some of the most successful marvel films and really fleshing out several characters.
We live in some weird world where if X-men movies where made the same quality and maturity level as Black Panther, Infinity Wars, Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War. That it would be bad thing . That is fate they are scared of apparently "Oh no marvel is going to make X-men movie quality of Winter soldier".
To be fair we don't know how the X-Men movies are gonna go. I don't think they'll be anything like The Winter Soldier. Even when it comes to being mature, they'll probably have a bit more humor. And that's fine, as long as it's also really serious when it needs to be(unlike say Ragnarok and GOTG).
There is no Disney movie that has the same level of quality and maturity. Its either Disney ends up with a more lighthearted juvenile plot, reduce the drama or they mess up the technical parts of their movies.
The forumla is about making processed factory movies. Good blockbusters would be depending on what your tastes and expectations are. Obviously I found Disney very limited with Marvel. You will be contradicting by admitting they have a formula, if they have a formula then there is nothing about their movies that is director driven.
The other obsession with Feige is to sell everything about Marvel through the MCU. He obviously has a limited mind. What happened to standalone films, I prefer what DC is doing. The upcoming Batman movies won't have any big tie ins to the DCEU. It makes movies more authentic.
Everyone keeps pointing out that FFH is the highest grossing Spiderman film of all time but where are you placing it in your Spiderman film rankings? Its the problem with Disney, they only care about cashing in the money , they don't care about making the best films they possibly can. Difference between FFH and Spiderverse/Spiderman 2.
