Honestly Kitty, after all that, you left him at the altar. Can you really blame him ?
"Morning love," well, you don't hear that everyday...
Rachel referring to Kurt as "love" is almost as triggering as Kitty calling Colossus "baby".
Ugh, Guggenheim must have a mad fixation with Mesmero. Why didn't an editor stop Guggs from mischaracterizing him as a telepath instead of a hypnotist? Even if he somehow got a secondary mutation, he has nowhere near the same amount of experience or power as Rachel. For him to so casually defeat her every single time is just trolling.
Honestly would explain the fastpaced romance. So.Im guessing Mesmero, in addition to being Matchmaker, is also gonna be the Mastermind to Rachel's Jean. meh. Pixie would've been a better villain.
And she *shudder* says it TWICE.

.............as if you hadn't desecrated their legacy enough..
Empath would have been a better villian and foil for Rachel.. Empathy vs Telepathy is something that works for me and makes sense.. Empath could have had a secondary mutation to boost his powers so that it would have made sense or used a machine ala Mastermind to take over and mess with Rachell.. Or Lady Matersmind could have been a good choice as well or maybe they could have worked as a duo.
Well at least now we have confirmation that Cassandra Nova has no connection with what is happening with Rachel in Gold. This was already a bit obvious but now we're sure and is kind of a bit sad for Rachel since she will soon be manipulated by another villain in X-men Red.
No surprise at Colossus's departure would actually be surprising if he continued on the same team as Kitty after everything .
Mesmero also once got Phoenix Jean under control, so it’s not the feats that are an issue. It’s that he’s humilated Rachel half a dozen times now where with Jean it only happened once.
Empath doesn't really have any reason to be a villain apart from "we need more villains".
When Fraction used him, he had been kidnapped and sexually abused and brainwashed by Madelyne Pryor, and then he was thrown, blind, into the Utopia prison (which didnt make much sense). Nobody asked if he was in college in Spain or what was he doing before that. Magik gave him back his sight and he escaped when Bastion attacked Utopia.
5 years before that, right after M Day, Emma called him to rescue Amara because she was causing earthquakes and eruptions in Ecuador because her depowered boyfriend burned alive and that made her crazy, he rescued her, took her to the mansion, and left (and that was the only interaction he had with Emma since the 80s, a shame)
Well, they make sense in that they have an extensive friendship history together, and have been attracted to one another in the past (Claremont's last X-Men run), but Mesmero is certainly a good reason behind the pacing and sudden intensity from two characters who don't necessarily do commitment very well.
Yea you'd really think that it'd be a case of 'you get 1 time of doing this and after that, you even attempt it and I fry your brain' but no, they keep treating Mesmero as if he's some world class telepath. Hell we still have no explanation of how he got his powers back considering he was depowered by M-Day.
