I love seeing amateur fan art of smww. Because it is usually by young or newer fans. It shows a growing smww fandom of all ages and talents, so inspired they pick up drawing them and sharing their art. And this has been a common sight across deviant art and IG. People who are honing their art too often drawn to smww and sketch the beautiful professional work for practice. And we of course know SMWW end up as pop art, paintings , murals etc in art galleries and many places.

Yes. Hopefully these are the next Alex Rosses, Jim Lees, Tony D's, etc etc

I think "old school" is fine but it should never dictate the future to the point it even disrupted new, fresh stories prematurely to regurgitate a story told over and over. DC needs a shot of young blood. I have no prob with older writers. However there is a sensibility that I am looking for from any writer to be able to produce something compelling. One can can be young at heart and very much in tuned with the spirit of the times as an older writer or creator. Being rigid and wanting it always the way " I was when I was young" is very much a death knell for creativity and even for getting a character liked by newer or younger fans. I loved and still love many things when I was younger but I don't want them all in my face at this stage. Intellectually and emotionally you need to be challenged via art and literature. Not swallow the same stuff from thirty years ago. Classic is classic but tastes have matured and moved with the times. This applies to SM and WW. Especially SM and WW.

It's a pointless thing other than suggesting Superman can't cope with a woman who is his equal, who can look after herself and see the world as her priority. He can't deal with one who who is not self serving, he needs to have a life or option where HE can be self serving, and be "normal" and have the good comfy life. Because a woman like Diana is too busy and won't prob pander to him and his needs. My God, new 52 Superman is NOT like that. I feel is a heresy to even suggest new 52 Superman being in his late twenties and early thirties would just find it easy to forget his job and the world. Being with Diana would never even do that. She'd never stand for him to just give up because it becomes about them being selfish.

And the baffling thing is DC overall decided that Superman can and will drop his "never ending battle" to put his personal needs over all else at a very early stage in his life as a hero. You'd think it be after decades of sacrifice and fighting the hard fight. Nope. It is in Rebirth, it is in the TV, he leaves it all still early. He is happy to leave even human heroes who suffer from age and injury ( like Bats) to slog it out and who don't take breaks because they believe in their cause while he hides and lives in comfort. Worse if he can't have this comfort, he turns evil . Nothing is earned really. DC want to say he is the greatest and I really don't understand how they gauge this because their is very little good evidence for it. I mean how many times you going to kill him? ALL heroes put their lives on the line ALL the time. Honestly sometimes I feel DC don't really know what drives SM.

I love Sacred's suggestion for new 52 Superman. I want my new 52 SM and WW have adventures as they ended up in the their timeline. ie His ID exposed. New 52 Clark dealt with the fallout. He faced the world as he was at a young age. He also opted to still fight for innocents and justice as a hero despite losing his powers something he never did in the past when he lost his powers and Diana loved him as he was. It never mattered to her. Yes she felt protective but so was Clark. This was a good chance for him to see how it feels for someone weaker than him when he is Superman. Be it his parents, friends, human gfs, human colleagues etc. Diana also had her own lessons to learn given her first relationship and then it was Clark who became vulnerable . It was a chance for her to see Clark could keep up too . This was all a chance to have BOTH to grow as characters in THIS timeline. DC just threw this entire history away. What a waste.

I believe this goes back to the intimidation and it’s hard to write them as equals. It’s easier to make it seem like it’s a bad thing. Superman HAS to be the main savior. Having a woman being of equal seems to hurt someone’s small ego.



The natural conflicts were already dealt with. Again turning them into something really bad is the problem.

We need more of this.

New 52 Diana and Mera as we know relate well to each other and in the new 52 Kal and Arthur also got on well. I loved that SMWW had stories involving AquaMera or viceversa. Diana and Mera need to team up more across the board. Even Amber Heard agrees! And I'd like to see more of Kal and Arthur too. I am sure Mamoa would agree. If they keep Cavill better yet given those two seem to get on very well. I'd say there is an easiness and affection between Cavill and Mamoa you don't see with Cavill and Affleck. And everyone loves Gal.

I am imagining a team up of these 3 power couples...lololol. It would be fun for sure. That is a varied enough group to have some good interaction. A street thief, billionaire, a princess, a Queen, a King, a farmboy reporter.

What a crew! The story potential is abundant!

I tip my hat to the writer. Beautifully put. I think DC are a bit bipolar though. All this in a book that supposedly gives DC history yet at a whim it never happened. smh.

But what makes this more accurate and believable basically overshadowing all the Rebirth claims is because this is the OFFICIAL history guide. But also what overshadows the claims is the continuation of SMWW being marketed together anyway

That's a new (or recent) way to see the character after 2 different eras of him being "just" Superman/Kal or "just" Clark.

They keep going back and forth on the idea. I know only Johns among the ones who seem liking the Diana Prince ID.

He can be all. That’s who he is period. Why try to have such a huge separation or trying to put one identity over the other. This is another main point of Kal and Diana’s relationship, embracing all of who they are, living all of their truth.

I don't think we can ever get a real idea about what Truth was supposed to be about if the story was changed before the 1st issue came out. Probably just half of the 1st arc is close to the original storyline. But I think that Meredith wrote WW #51 unaware of what DC was going to do with Superman.

Of course not. But I agree, Meredith didn’t know everything but just enough to make it fit the tragic loss of Diana’s desire and love.

That seems more a problem with SM, he's the one stuck into nostalgia. WW has to deal with writers that want to leave their stamp on the character and get rid of the work of who came before.

Give it time, modern writers seem more open to the idea of all his identities being "real".

I liked the idea of Diana being conflicted over her desire of a family and her duty. You can see that Meredith put a lot of her experience as a woman into it. I think I've read that she had to sacrifice her career to raise her children (she entered in the comic book industry later).
