    RULES

    CHARACTERS
*Each plotter can pick a group of characters that goes from 2 to 8 and use them as a team. The same numbers works for villains whatever they’re a team or no. The size of the cast are negotiable.

*You can use every single character from the DC, Vertigo, Wildstorm, America's Best Comics and Milestone collection. You can create new characters.

*You can kill characters only if the Editor in Chief agrees.

*If a plotter wants to write an ongoing about a character in a team he can do it, but any major change in the character status quo must be discussed with the team book plotter. Works the same in the opposite direction.

*The same character can’t be in more than four books, either solos or teams (there can be exception based on the character’s relevance). However, there is no restriction for the multiverse series as they involve alternate earth characters.

    CREATIVE TEAMS:
*On each one of his books, the plotter places a writer and an artist. A creative change during the course of the run is possible but should be announced.

*The same writer can’t be used on more than three books across the entire line. The same artist can’t be used on more than once.

*As long as they’re living, any writer and artist counts.

    TITLES:
*Each line should not exceed ten ongoing titles.

    CANCELLATION:
*After its third issue, every title can risk getting cancelled: the lowest sellers for 3 consecutive months may be cancelled.

*A plotter who has his book cancelled can go back to pitching.

    STRIKES:
Three strikes, and your books could be removed. What causes the strikes?
*Failure to present your solicits for two+months.
*Failure to make any buys in the monthly solicits’ thread.

    TOP SELLER BONUS

The line with the most sales per titles at the end of each month qualify for the following. :

    1. TOP BILLING- The winning line would be entered on the top of the next month's listings.

2.The winning editor(s) would be able to add any creator owned comic book character or concept. The selection will be exclusive to that line. From Hellboy to Invincible the creator owned comic property/writer can be added to your line.

    3. The winning line editor(s) for the month can introduce characters from outside of DC. However, this will only include all Warner Bros characters, Cartoon Network characters and any character formerly licensed by DC.

    4. The winning line editor may add any movie/tv director or writer to any of the creative teams of their line.

    5. Any line related one-shot. It could be an origin, elseworld, anniversary, 0 issue, etc. It's up to what the editor decides.

    6. PREVIEW. If the line editor(s) selects this option any or every plotter in their line can display an early preview of their title at NEW DAWN LIVE prior to the monthly release. They can also provide any information regarding the title/storyline.

*Top Billing is a standard every month, while the winning line would choose from either #2,#3,#4 and #5.

I guess this is where people post for this now? I'd be very interested in doing a Superman book, hopefully in time to debut for the new year, and I've got a couple questions:

A: There are limits for how many books a character can star in; does Superman have one to spare, or is he maxed out?

B: I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but there's no continuity between this and the Age of Marvels line in terms of creators, correct? It doesn't matter if - to draw a rabbit out of a hat here - Art Adams was being used in both lines, despite the 1 artist=1 book limit? And does their real-life rate of work affect who can be used here (taking the likes of Quitely out of the running)?

C: Does the rule about characters not native to the DCU apply to figures already introduced into the line? I'd love to use Spider Jerusalem, and he's already in this universe thanks to Shaggydoo's Superman (which makes it my favorite Superman book coming out in any lineup by default. The rest of that book's great too, but that's once-in-a-lifetime-stroke-of-genius stuff right there).

D: Are there guidelines for parallel universes? I know 8, 43 and 17 are being used for various purposes, and don't necessarily adhere to the New 52 lineup of universes, but do you have to clear it with anyone to come up with a new one? For that matter, are we limited to 52?
    Buh-bye

Hey dude, I'll answer your questions as best as I can.

A: There are limits for how many books a character can star in; does Superman have one to spare, or is he maxed out?
A character is limited to four books. There could be exceptions made on their relevance to the DCU. Check with shaggydoo since he's the Superman Line Editor.

B: I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but there's no continuity between this and the Age of Marvels line in terms of creators, correct? Creators can be used across both lines and their pace does not affect their work here in New Dawn. The same writers can't be used on more than three titles and the same artist can't be used on more than two. Also they must be living.

C: Does the rule about characters not native to the DCU apply to figures already introduced into the line? I believe characters introduced in New Dawn are fair to use. Just check with shaggy to be sure.

With our Infinite Dawn Line, we pretty much established alternate universes. Check with shaggydoo and the line editors Clark_Kent and Lorec about creating a universe that isn't in the 52. I hope this helps and welcome aboard.
