I think Genesis won against Annihilation and took on her mantle. I dont imagine her children would follow her killer.
ALL HAIL THE HADARI YAO, THE OMEGA'S OMEGA, BEYOND OMEGA, THE VOICE OF SOL!!!! NOW AGAIN THE ONE TRUE AND ONLY GODDESS OF THE X-MEN AS CLAREMONT INTENDED!!!!!
Yeah but even with the typical Marvel event their's a chance for lasting affects prime example death that element is completely removed from all X-Books so their's nothing to worry about, it's pure gain and added lore for the x-people. Which is fine but doesn't negate my point theirs no real stakes. *shrugs* Not saying it's bad.
We actually don't know that Resurrection is safe there keeping intentionally vague about that as well as who survived the event and what consequence is the event actually have.
Not to mention the Golden Rule solicitations lie. Adrian is very much anti spoilers I'm pretty sure he's not going to let the solicitations ruin the ending to his (and Tini's) story.
We know that some of the 10 survive, we don't definitively know if all do.
Loved the issue! It was so great to see some characters that haven't had any time in the spotlight. I now see what Tini has been planning in Excalibur and I appreciate the diligent work. I will have to agree with chief12d that it does however expose her shortcomings as a writer. Excalibur is a jumbled mess with very little characterization and just a collection of things happening.
But I just love how much Tini and JHickman have incorporated into the story. I was wondering if Tarot would get a mention and they did not disappoint! Also, S.W.O.R.D!!! Just brilliant!!!
Also, Pepe using Rachel's new uniform but ignoring Lorna's was a good call.
I'm a little apprehensive of this being about a tournament, but I'm sure it'll be deeper than that. Excited for more!
JUST LOL
Death in the Marvel Comics is literally a revolving door. There weren't that many "stakes" to begin with if you were a popular character that was killed off chances are you'd be brought back in a year or two.
But that's kind of beside the point because the in story "steaks" are the fact that the bad guys are a threat to the entire multiverse at this point.
We've only seen three or four characters involved event on the covers for December. Folks can die plus the change in trajectory of character motivations. Will Betsy stay Cap B? Will Monet become the new Omniversal Majestrix? Does that mean Saturnyne falls? What happens to Otherworld in the midst of this war/contest? etc etc. There's stakes even if they don't fall directly with the immediate threat or someone dying.

My question is how why on earth did Saturnyne want the X-Men to reactivate SWORD?
Also I love how Hickman turned Saturnyne into a 4D chess player in just one issue where ass and Excalibur she comes off as a petulant child constantly being outsmarted by apocalypse.
