I think it is safe to say that people are over Marvel keeping Peter and MJ apart, it is just coming off as desperate, especially with the magical hobos, beard-fearing Gods of Mischief and Male Carlie.

I think there are a lot of reasons this run is seeing the reception it has. And the lack of credibility Marvel Editorial has with Spider-fans is one of the big reasons.

Honestly, if the things about how much of a nothing character Paul is are true, then this is an insult towards Carlie.

Like, Carlie was a pretty bad love interest, she was basically Gwen 2.0, better in some ways, worse in others, but... She has a last name, and a confirmed job, and a background story, does Paul have any of these things? Lol.
