I liked the Long Halloween both I and II.
There is a major hole in the plot where everyone but Batman
    can figure out the perpetrator.

You also do get a feeling that every rogue gallery villain
is thrown at Batman, but without being that dangerous.
But out of the animated Batman movie it really is one of the best.

As a BatCat fan since being a little kid in 1970s, I totally enjoyed The Long Halloween. I plan to re-watch it soon.

    I give it a 9/10.
I created a thread about Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Koriand'r/Starfire. It is to acknowledge and honor their iconic and popular relationship.

I created a fan page about Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson. This page is for all the Spider-Marriage fans.

It really gives you a sense of how the Bruce-Selina relationship would work.
That she understands him on a level that is just not sexual attraction.

I just watched part II last night. Loved it. I think they did a great job with both parts.

No surprise, I'm the only one to have had any problems with this adaptation...

They've discussed doing a Dark Victory adaption (I'm not sure how possible that is with the story changes made here).

For lines like "I know what's down here" I wish they hired Anthony Ruviviar for the role instead of Jensen Ackles.

Do you mean stuff like this?
    spoilers:
Harvey was hospitalized while his wife who was in his arms when the house blew up was perfectly uninjured
    end of spoilers

That was kind of ridiculous, yeah.

Watched both back-to-back, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed them. I do think they work better as one long feature-film rather than a two-parter, but your mileage may vary.

The voice cast is great, and so is the animation. Harvey's story is touching, the mystery is solid, and the atmosphere is great. I did not mind the changes to the story that much, since it still felt fulfilling at the end.

The movie seems to be doing well on Blu-Ray sales, so I'm hopeful for a Dark Victory adaptation with the same team.

    While that is pretty ridiculous,

    spoilers:
I'd say injured Gilda in the comic unhooking herself from her hospital bed to get past sleeping Harvey and all the hospital staff, kill a roomful of armed thugs, and sneaking back without anyone noticing like she did in the book is much harder to swallow
    end of spoilers

Yeah, the scene is a bit ridiculous in *both* versions of the story… but the animated version doesn’t have the ridiculousness standing in the way of the mystery’s resolution be a probable “fair play” story. Thus the mystery and story are stronger in the animated version more because of placing the story’s weaknesses away from the central plot and more to the details.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
