Dark does not mean deep.
Here I was thinking that there couldn't be an Onslaught rehash because you need a more heroic Xavier for it to have any impact than the Charles we have had (barring a short period of being dead) for the last decade and a half.
"Oh, no! Our saintly mentor has become a villain!" carries a bit more weight than "Oh, look. Our barely better than the other villains former mentor has decided to go full villain. Again."
Dark does not mean deep.
In a round-about way they made him darker in the X-force story where his AOA counterpart came and killed Blob & Iceman.
Even the original Mutant X version of Bloodstorm wasn't completely bad.
There are just so many unused ideas and we keep getting the same ideas over and over.
Nightcrawler and Rogue (and a bunch of other X-Men) were both inverted during Sixis.
Nah. Counting AXIS as a villain turn would be like counting Infinity Crusade.
Alternate reality versions don't count as a hero becoming a villain. I don't think mind-control counts either. Storm was just turned into a hound in the very recent Extermination. Rogue was a villain during the Muir Island Saga. Claremont wrote mind control into almost every one of his stories, so all of the senior X-men have been mind-controlled at some point.
