I think having two characters with the exact same real name is different from two different people using the same codename.

Not really no, the only difference is one sharing the same real name means that's what they are called when out of costume. While having the same codename means that they are called the same in costume.

But essentially, it's two people sharing the same name, just like it happens in real life.

Yes. I still wonder if "Barrence" is a real name because aside from those old FLASH comics, I've never encountered the name "Barrence."
