That event poster on the side is very swell, both as all the goodies, the black mignola-shirt the guy is wearing, the schweet shotglas and the spiffy make-up print, both as the one demo Artist Edition book.
The original art is just unbelievably cool and amazing and wonderful.
I hope folks had a blast. And I can't wait for my own regular AE to reach me on account of my own li'l old LCS.

No problem
Was the release date for this changed? I've seen a wide range of dates and now most are pointing to the end of July.
Well, somewhere around mid August 2013 an interview with mr Scott Dunbier on this release as one of the next three upcoming Artist Editions to happen, was officialy released to the press by IDW, containing a line like "expected for a June 2014 release" or some such.
(The Dunbier interview or press release may have been part of the news-stuff coming out of SDCC 2013, but I'm not certain of that.)
Technically any such isn't gonna be some definite release date, but just a mere expectation more rather, I would think.
The Hellboy Artist Edition wasn't actually slated into IDW's official 'upcoming Previews list' any sooner than March 2014, which noted the title as "expected for the end of July".
So no delay really, but a release date which turned out a few weeks later than originally expected, probably due to timing the release exactly with SDCC, as depending on whether or not some exclusive SDCC edition or event-thing would be made out of it or not, would be my personal guess.
There was also the scary hubbub about two pages needing a re-scanning, but all of that got sorted as far as I know.

I was at House of Secrets in Burbank today and they said they would have them next week.
I was able to pick up my (regular) HiH-AOS Artist Edition at my LCS, where I also had the chance of meeting mr Steve Rude, who's the bees' knees.
The Scott Dunbier Mignola book is buff to the bare-ass teeth. And it contains Polish somehow.

I was waiting for someone else to get this and tell me what that was! Polish, but why?
